"BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR," AN ENTERTAINMENT SPECIAL HOSTED BY HARRY SMITH AND JANN CARL, TO BE BROADCAST LIVE MONDAY, JULY 4 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR, an entertainment special hosted by Harry Smith and Jann Carl, will be broadcast live from the Charles River Esplanade in Boston on Monday, July 4 (10:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. The special marks the third time that the legendary "Boston Pops Fourth of July Celebration" will be broadcast on Network television.

The Boston Pops will perform under the direction of conductor Keith Lockhart. The concert will feature its traditional explosive fireworks display with the Boston Pops rendition of the 1812 Overture as musical accompaniment. The final 20 minutes of the telecast, featuring the fireworks display, will be presented commercial free by Liberty Mutual Group.

The Boston Pops, America's orchestra, performs in front of nearly 900,000 people annually in Boston, across the country and around the world, and reaches millions more through its recordings and television broadcasts. The BOSTON POPS FIREWORKS SPECTATULAR is the orchestra's annual free outdoor Fourth of July concert.

Harry Smith has been anchor for CBS News' "The Early Show" since October 2002. He has served as the host of A&E's "Biography" series since 1999. Before that, Smith worked for CBS News for 13 years as an anchor, correspondent and featured contributor for various broadcasts. He was a regular contributor to the "CBS Evening News with Dan Rather," served as substitute anchor and correspondent for "CBS News Sunday Morning" and anchored and contributed to CBS News documentaries and "48 Hours," the primetime news magazine. He served as co-anchor of "CBS This Morning" from 1987-1996.

Jann Carl has been the primary substitute anchor, weekend anchor and correspondent for the #1 syndicated entertainment newsmagazine, "Entertainment Tonight," for the past 10 years. Carl has been the first to interview some of Hollywood's brightest stars about the industry's biggest films, including Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz. She co-hosted the 2005 "Oscar Countdown Show," the 2003 "Emmy Awards Pre-Show," and the 2003, 2004 and 2005 "Rose Parade" broadcasts, on the Network. Carl's high profile within the Hollywood community has led to appearances (as herself) in such films as "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star," "Josie and the Pussycats" and "Bulworth."
