A CLEAN-FREAK "SUPER" MOTHER WHO BELIEVES IN ORDER, CHORES AND LOTS OF RULES SWAPS LIVES WITH A MOTHER WHO LIVES IN AN UNKEMPT AND UNRULY HOUSE WITH A GOAT ROAMING FREE -- NO RULES AND NO PRIVACY -- ON ABC'S "WIFE SWAP"

This week in "Mayfield/Wasdin," a clean-freak mother who believes in extreme cleanliness, order and lots of chores swaps lives with a mother who lives in a house with a goat roaming free, no rules and no privacy, on ABC's "Wife Swap" -- the critically-acclaimed, unscripted reality show that takes us into the intimate heart of the American family home, revealing the extraordinarily different ways families live their lives -- MONDAY, OCTOBER 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Each week, from across the country, two families with very different values are chosen to take part. In a two-week-long challenge, the wives from these two families exchange husbands, children and lives (but not bedrooms) to discover what it's like to live a very different life. It's a mind-blowing experiment that often ends up changing their lives forever.

Sabrina Mayfield (44) and her husband, Fred (47), share their chaotic Texas home with daughter Fallon (18), eight dogs and a 170-pound goat named Rusty. Sabrina is devoted to her beloved animals, while her husband works hard as a factory worker. The Mayfield home is unkempt and unruly, as nobody does housework, and the animals are allowed to roam everywhere. Rusty the goat even shares the marital bed with Fred and Sabrina. Daughter Fallon's idea of doing laundry is throwing it to the floor below and leaving it for her father to do. Fred is the only one who even attempts to clean up around the house, and he gets no help from the women he lives with. Meanwhile, Sabrina won't keep a schedule, avoids housework at all costs and puts her four-legged family members before all else.

Sabrina travels to the Alabama home of "super mom" Stacy Wasdin (37) and her husband, Steve (37). The Wasdins run a strict, sanitized home resulting from pure elbow grease -- performed by Stacy and her five children, Staisha (15), Christine (14), Kelsy (12), Elizabeth (10) and Steven (8). The Wasdins believe that everything should run on a schedule, and that if anything runs off course, the entire household will fall apart. There are lots of rules for the children to follow, such as when to do their chores and even what times they're permitted to speak to certain people in the house. If the children leave anything out of place in their rooms or neglect to do their chores, Stacy will wake them in the middle of the night to get it done. Stacy sacrifices everything for her family, taking no time for herself. In 17 years of marriage, Steve has never cooked, cleaned or done laundry. He expects Stacy to do all the household chores and have dinner ready by the time he arrives home from work.

In the first week of the swap, Stacy adjusts to a new family of two people and eight animals in an unkempt home. She struggles with the untidiness of the house, lack of rules and animals running loose. Meanwhile in Alabama, Sabrina wakes up at 5:00 a.m. to begin her twenty-hour day of cleaning, cooking and chauffeuring.

In week two of the swap, when the wives change the rules and turn the tables, Sabrina introduces fun into the Wasdin home. She banishes all rules and puts Steve in charge of all the household work. Meanwhile in the Mayfield home, Stacy lays down the law and teaches the family about housework and keeping clean quarters. At the end of the swap, when the couples are reunited, will the families find common ground, or are their differences too great to overcome?
