STEVE KROFT REPORTS ON WHETHER PAKISTAN IS AIDING AMERICAS ENEMIES, MORLEY SAFER LOOKS AT CHARGES OF MERCY KILLING AND KATIE COURIC GOES INSIDE THE MIND AND HOME OF CONDOLEEZZA RICE ON THE 39TH SEASON PREMIERE OF 60 MINUTES, SUNDAY, SEPT. 24

Steve Kroft questions Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf about his countrys ties to rogue nations and terrorists, Morley Safer talks to a doctor and nurses accused of murdering extremely ill patients and Katie Couric reveals the private side of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on the 39th season premiere of 60 MINUTES to be broadcast Sunday, Sept. 24 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Is our supposed ally in the war on terror really playing both sides of the street? Kroft questions Pakistans leader about the sales of nuclear technology to Iran and North Korea and also about the Taliban and al-Qaeda terrorists using his country as a base.

Did someone play God after the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina left many already-sick New Orleanians on the brink of death? Safer talks to a doctor and two nurses accused of killing patients under their care after the storm.

Everyone has seen the U.S. secretary of state, but hardly anyone knows her beyond the poker face she shows on the international stage. On Sunday, Secretary Rice opens her rarely glimpsed private life to Couric in a 60 MINUTES profile that also includes questions on our nations foreign policy.

Portions of the Rice profile, including outtakes, will also appear on Yahoo!, part of the first full season of a unique new arrangement with Yahoo! allowing access to 60 MINUTES content throughout the worlds most trafficked Web site. Each week following the Sunday night broadcast, a Yahoo! microsite will be updated with two news packages. One appearing Sunday night will expand on a segment featured that night the Rice interview this week while a second one from the archives of 60 MINUTES will be published later in the week. Both offerings will include never-before-seen 60 MINUTES video footage, as well as interactive elements such as a reporters notebook, blogs, photo galleries and polls.

60 MINUTES, the number one news magazine, received a total of 10 Emmy nominations the most for any single program for work broadcast last season.
