Can working moms have it all? Is there such a thing as a perfect balance between work and family, or is it one big exhausting fantasy for the 26 million mothers who work? Working mom Elizabeth Vargas, fresh from her own maternity leave, takes viewers to the frontline of the working mom�s daily tug of war between family and work. Vargas, who speaks about her own personal struggle in the quest to have it all, talks to working moms from across the country, experts, politicians and advocates about the challenges of doing it all, often without job flexibility or affordable daycare. The report airs on �20/20� FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on ABC.

Vargas says: �I know this is the dream I grew up with. You want a career? You want a family? No problem. You can have it all � no compromises. And in most ways I am living that dream. I have healthy children; a husband I love; I am blessed with a job with a lot of flexibility; and I am well compensated for it. Yet I still struggle with the balance between work and home and the guilt that comes from feeling you never have quite enough to give. But I also know I am not alone.�

�20/20� spends average days with three working moms and discovers that, no matter what type of job or how much you make, it is hard to do it all. �I'm not trying to be a superhero here. I'm just trying to find the balance,� a working mom tells �20/20.�

Why hasn�t more been done to help working mothers? Of 168 countries surveyed, the U.S. is only one of five that doesn�t have paid maternity leave. Vargas interviews Senator Christopher Dodd, who says it�s time for government to pay six weeks of maternity leave. Vargas also interviews Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor Karen Czarnecki, who disagrees: �I think people have to take responsibility for themselves, and they shouldn't always look to government to have an answer for them.�

Radio talk show host Tom Leykis agrees with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor. �20/20� cameras are there as Leykis says to his radio audience: �We should feel sorry for them? They�re trying to balance work and home, kids and career concerns, and we oughta be helping them out? I don�t see why that�s a job for the rest of us.� And many of his listeners who called in agree.

And: How far will people go to follow orders? A man posing as a police officer convinces fast food workers across the country to do unthinkable acts to co-workers � all via telephone. How could a man be so convincing that strangers would act out his cruel requests? John Qui�ones updates his report from last year on this bizarre crime � including what happened to a McDonald�s assistant manager and her fianc� from a Louisville, KY suburb who followed the caller�s bizarre commands, as well as the man from Florida who was on trial accused of being the hoaxes� mastermind. �20/20� is inside the courtroom as his verdict is read.
