Charles Gibson to Anchor "California Burning"

Coverage to Continue Later on "Nightline," with Terry Moran Reporting from Southern California

ABC News will broadcast a live one-hour primetime special tonight on the wildfires burning out of control in Southern California. Charles Gibson will anchor this special edition of "20/20" from Rancho Bernardo, CA. "California Burning" will air on the ABC Television Network tonight, Tuesday October 23, at 10:02 p.m., ET, and will air again live at 10:02 p.m., PT with updated reports.

"Good Morning America" News Anchor Chris Cuomo will report live on the latest news of the day and the extent of the damage thus far. The special will also feature reports on the evacuees at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, the environmental threat posed by fires and the immigration population affected by the disaster, among other topics. ABC News Jim Avila, Chris Connelly, David Muir, Deborah Roberts, Claire Shipman and Mike Von Fremd will contribute to the program.

Later on "Nightline," Terry Moran will anchor continued coverage of this story from Southern California, live at 11:35 p.m., ET and live again at 11:35 p.m., PT.

Tonights edition of "World News with Charles Gibson" will also be updated live for the West Coast.
