'TO CATCH A PREDATOR' TO AIR ON 'DATELINE,' FRIDAY, DEC. 28

CHRIS HANSEN REPORTS FROM BOWLING GREEN, KENTUCKY IN THE TWELFTH HIDDEN CAMERA INVESTIGATION THAT CATCHES MEN WHO APPEAR TO BE TRYING TO MEET A YOUNG TEEN ONLINE FOR SEX FRIDAY, DEC. 28 at 9PM ON "DATELINE"

NEW YORK December 18, 2007 "Dateline's" investigative series, "To Catch a Predator," returns ith Chris Hansen reporting from southwestern Kentucky. In the upcoming broadcast, alleged predators are arrested after chatting online about sex with a minor. Like the previous investigations, Chris Hansen confronts many of the men. In addition, dateline.msnbc.com, will feature exclusive video footage of his conversations with potential predators. The investigation will air on Friday, Dec. 28 at 9 p.m. ET.

For the twelfth investigation, Hansen and NBC News set up its hidden cameras inside a 6,000 sq foot home in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Members of Perverted Justice, the Internet watchdog group and paid consultants to "Dateline NBC," pretended to be young teens chatting online (ages 12-13). Most of the adults caught in the investigations allegedly attempted to solicit the Perverted Justice decoys for sex. Some sent graphic sexual images as well. Many of those same men showed up at the house for a rendezvous with the minor. Perverted Justice teamed up with Kentucky Attorney General's Office, The Kentucky Bureau of Investigations as well as local law enforcement for their third investigation in the state. The police later arrested the men.

Most of the suspects confronted by Hansen claim their intentions were innocent, and some even acknowledge that they have seen Dateline's reports on television and still came to the house. The hidden camera investigation attracted seven men in three and a half days.

Dateline.msnbc.com will offer a behind-the-scenes look into Hansen's role throughout the investigation. As with previous broadcasts, the Web site will continue to feature exclusive video footage of the potential predators and Hansen and general online safety tips. In addition, previous shows will be available on-demand after the broadcast. Viewers can also log on to see an interview with one of the decoys, view a photo gallery of the suspects arrested, and read Hansen's blog entries.

David Corvo is the executive producer of "Dateline NBC."
