BACK-TO-BACK "20/20" HOURS REPORT ON UNTHINKABLE CRIMES

Did A Successful Man Murder His Wife Or Was He Falsely Accused? And Three Families Search For Answers When Young Women Disappear In Japan

Airing On Friday, February 29, Beginning at 9:00 p.m.

From a husband accused of murdering his wife, to three young women who vanished into thin air in Japan, "20/20" reports back-to-back crime investigations -- each with surprising twists and turns -- on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 29 (9:00-10:00 and 10:00-11:00 p.m.,ET), on the ABC Television Network.

"20/20" airing 9:00-10:00 p.m.,ET:

Did Julie Jensen, a wife and loving mother of two boys, commit suicide, or was her husband, stockbroker Mark Jensen, responsible for a horrific murder? Soon after her body was found in their bed by Mark in December 1998, with limited physical evidence to go on, police initially thought her depression was the key to solving her death. But after a series of unbelievable twists and turns -- including the uncovering of a letter written by Julie shortly before her untimely death in which she wrote her husband was plotting to kill her; to extramarital affairs by both Julie and Mark; to the remarkable discoveries on the family computer; to a surprise witness with a smoking gun story -- Mark Jensen found himself on trial for his wife's murder. Over the past ten months, "20/20" gained exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Jensen investigation, as the prosecutor and district attorney prepared for their cases. The Jay Schadler report also includes courtroom footage of the trial and verdict, which came down close to a decade after Julie Jensen died.

"20/20: Vanished Overseas" airing 10:00-11:00 p.m.,ET:

Imagine someone from your family disappearing in a foreign country. Then imagine the trauma turning to tragedy when his or her body is discovered. As Elizabeth Vargas reports, that was the situation facing two British families when ,first, Lucie Blackman, and then seven years later, Lindsay Hawker, were found murdered in Japan. In a country a world away, with police procedures as foreign as the language, two families were left searching for answers and hoping for justice. And could the mysterious death of Carita Ridgway, a young woman from Australia years earlier, be connected to one of these cases? "20/20" follows the investigations and puts the puzzle pieces together.

"20/20" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and John Stossel. David Sloan is executive producer.
