POPULAR CHEF CURTIS STONE TAKES CONTESTANTS THROUGH A "KITCHEN BOOT CAMP" ON NBC'S "THE BIGGEST LOSER," AND THE PLAYERS GET A CHANCE TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE FROM ELIMINATION ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 (8-10 P.M. ET)

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- September 18, 2009 Popular chef and best-selling author Curtis Stone returns to "The Biggest Loser" to take contestants through a "kitchen boot camp," and contestants get a challenge that could keep all of them on the ranch for another week on Tuesday, September 22 (8-10 p.m. ET).

It's week two at the ranch, well known as one of the hardest weeks on "The Biggest Loser" to lose big numbers on the scale. So contestants are surprised when host Alison Sweeney tells them they'll all get to stay on the ranch another week if they lose a certain amount of weight. Hoping to help in their quest is Chef Curtis Stone, who meets them at the California Health and Longevity Institute for a "kitchen boot camp" designed to help them make healthier food choices.

Also, contestant Tracey Yukich, who suffered from a heat-related illness during the first challenge of the season, is welcomed back to the ranch. Then all the contestants have to rely on each other for a balancing challenge that tests their ability to work together. And later, a nail-biting weigh-in will reveal whether all the players meet the required weight loss goal to stay another week or whether two players will be sent home. Trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels also star.

Stone is the specialist chef on "The Biggest Loser," teaching the contestants how to make good nutritional choices and prepare healthy and delicious meals. The Australian native is a master chef, bestselling author, TV host and entrepreneur. In fall 2008, Stone launched his line of sleek and eco-friendly kitchen solutions at Williams Sonoma, and he will continue to unveil new products throughout 2009. Stone's fourth book, Relaxed Cooking with Curtis Stone: Recipes to Put You in My Favorite Mood, was released in April 2009. His passion for food can also be seen on the show "Take Home Chef," which is currently in reruns.

The season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" on September 15 (8-10 p.m. ET) averaged a 3.8/11 in adults 18-49 and 9.9 million viewers overall, and was #1 among the major networks in the time period in adults 18-49 and all other demographics. These were the highest 18-49 and total-viewer results for a "Biggest Loser" fall debut since the first cycle launched on October 19, 2004.

"The Biggest Loser: Couples" is a production of Reveille LLC, 25/7 Productions and 3Ball Productions. Ben Silverman (NBC's "The Office," "Ugly Betty"), Dave Broome ("A Model Life with Petra Nemcova," "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope"), JD Roth ("Age of Love," "Beauty and the Geek"), Todd A. Nelson ("Unan1mous," "Beauty and the Geek") and Mark Koops ("Breakthrough With Tony Robbins," "Shear Genius") serve as executive producers.
