A TEENAGER'S MOTHER IS MURDERED...JUST LIKE HER FATHER THE YEAR BEFORE. ARE HER PARENTS' DEATHS CONNECTED? -- CBS NEWS' "48 HOURS MYSTERY," ON SATURDAY, APRIL 10

In 2004, Noura Jackson suffered the tragic shooting of her estranged father, a murder that was never solved. Seventeen months later, Noura's mother, Jennifer, was killed, stabbed more than 50 times in her Memphis, Tenn., home.

Like most single mothers, Jennifer Jackson was a juggler, and a seemingly good one. In 2005, the 39-year-old was managing a career as a successful bond trader and providing a generous lifestyle for Noura. By most accounts, mother and daughter had a good relationship, but as Noura began spending her nights out drinking, Jennifer became increasingly critical of her daughter's hard-partying lifestyle. Then in the early morning hours of June 5, 2005, Noura made a frantic phone call to police and told them she had found her mother lying dead in her bedroom.

The murder sent a shock through the community, and police went on a desperate search to find Jennifer's killer. Was it a controlling ex-boyfriend? Was it the same person who killed Noura's father? Stymied by the lack of physical evidence at the crime scene, investigators' questions kept mounting and soon they zeroed in on a suspect - Noura.

Eighteen-year-old Noura had told conflicting stories about her activities in the hours before she called 911. And while none of the DNA at the crime scene matched Noura's, she was eventually charged with murder. Could a teenage girl really brutally kill her own mother? Was this a case of matricide - the rarest form of homicide? Could the deaths of her parents be connected?
