"PRIMETIME: MIND GAMES" - REAL CASES WHERE "REALITY" GIVES WAY TO FANTASY

ABC News Limited Series Premieres Tuesday, June 22 and Airs for Five More Weeks

"Primetime: Mind Games," the newest of Primetime's collection of limited series, takes viewers into the darkest corners of the human mind and examines how it can be twisted. The series premieres with a remarkable story of survival: Mary Stauffer and her eight-year-old daughter, Beth, were abducted by a psychotic killer and imprisoned in a tiny bedroom closet for 53 days in the spring of 1980. The abductor had spent 15 years fantasizing about Mary since she'd been his math teacher at a high school near Minneapolis. ABC News Correspondent Deborah Roberts reports on Mary and Beth's ability to outmaneuver their abductor at his own mind game, their incredible survival, their ability to put the nightmare behind them, and what's next, as the date for a parole hearing for their abductor nears.

"Primetime: Mind Games" airs TUESDAY, JUNE 22 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network, and for the subsequent five Tuesdays.

"Primetime: Mind Games" is anchored by Elizabeth Vargas and Chris Cuomo. David Sloan is executive producer.
