REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER COVERS THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION WITH SPECIAL LIVE HALF-HOUR SHOWS THIS WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY; CHARLES COOKE, D.L. HUGHLEY AND ANTHONY WEINER ARE PANELISTS FOR THE JULY 27 SHOW; AMY HOLMES, MICHAEL MOYNIHAN AND SALMAN RUSHDIE ARE PANELISTS FOR THE JULY 28 SHOW

REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER continues its election coverage this week with special live half-hour editions, presented from Los Angeles, during the Democratic convention on WEDNESDAY, JULY 27 and THURSDAY, JULY 28 at 11:00 p.m. (ET)/8:00 p.m. (PT) both nights.

Panelists for the July 27 show are editor Charles Cooke, comedian D.L. Hughley and former NY Rep. Anthony Weiner. Panelists for the July 28 show are political analyst Amy Holmes, journalist Michael Moynihan and author Salman Rushdie.

The REAL TIME convention specials are also available to nonsubscribers, who can stream them live on the REAL TIME YouTube channel (youtube.com/RealTime). In addition, the shows are available on Maher's Facebook page the day after they air on HBO.

REAL TIME's regularly scheduled programming continues this Friday, July 29 at 10:00 p.m. (live ET/tape-delayed PT).

Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with guests. The show is also available on HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand.

Politico has hailed Maher as "a pugnacious debater and a healthy corrective to the claptrap of cable news," while Variety noted, "There may not be a more eclectic guest list on all of television."

Maher headlined his first special on the network in 1989 and has starred in ten solo specials to date, including the hour-long presentations "Bill Maher: Live from D.C.," "Bill Maher... But I'm Not Wrong," "The Decider" and "I'm Swiss" (both nominated for an Emmy(R) in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special category), "Victory Begins at Home," "Be More Cynical," "The Golden Goose Special" and "Stuff That Struck Me Funny," and two half-hour stand-up specials, plus the specials "30 Seconds Over Washington" and "Comic Relief VI(TM)." Maher is also an executive producer of the innovative news magazine show "VICE," which recently concluded its fourth season.
