'20/20' REVEALS FOR THE FIRST TIME A DNA-GENERATED COMPOSITE OF WHO ALLEGEDLY KILLED UNC SOPHOMORE FAITH HEDGEPETH

Report Includes Exclusive Security Camera Footage, Photos of the Alleged Murder Weapon and Crime Scene Photos

'Love, Hope, Faith' Airs '20/20' Friday, September 23, on ABC

Four years after University of North Carolina sophomore Faith Hedgepeth was found brutally murdered, police have granted "20/20" exclusive and unprecedented access into their investigation. Police share a never-before-seen composite of the what the killer may look like based off the DNA evidence found at the crime scene. Using genetic code from this DNA, a software company in Reston, Virginia, was able to predict the eye color, hair color, skin color, freckling, face morphology and ancestry of the alleged killer.

ABC News Correspondent Ryan Smith's report also features the following never-before-seen evidence: Security camera footage of Faith and Karena at The Thrill, photos of the alleged murder weapon and crime scene photos. In addition, this hour-long investigation includes interviews with Faith's parents, Connie and Roland; her siblings, Chad and Rolanda; Marisol Rangel; Lt. Celisa Lehew and Police Chief Chris Blue.

In the early hours of September 7, 2012, Faith and her roommate, Karena Rosario, went out to a popular local nightclub, The Thrill, returning home around 3:00 a.m. About an hour and a half later Karena leaves to spend the night at another student's apartment. The next morning their friend, Marisol Rangel, brings Karena back to the apartment, where they find Faith dead. When police search the room, they discover a cryptic note written on a take-out bag stating on separate lines, "IM NOT STUPID" "BITCH" " JEALOUS." Private Investigator Dave Marshburn believes he has found someone who's handwriting matches the writing on the take-out bag. Investigators have interviewed over 1,800 people during the course of their investigation but still do not have a suspect. "Love, Hope, Faith" airs on "20/20" FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 (10:00-11:00p.m. ET) on ABC.
