ATYPICAL (Netflix) - Nik Dodani ("Kevin from Work") will recur on the new comedy as Zahid, "Sam's (Keir Gilchrist) co-worker at the electronics store." (Deadline.com)
FEUD (FX) - Kathy Bates is the latest bound for the anthology series as Bette Davis' (Susan Sarandon) confidante Joan Blondell in the eight-episode drama. "During her five-decade career, Blondell appeared in nearly 100 films, including The Cincinnati Kid, The Blue Veil, Grease and The Champ." (TVLine.com)
JACK RYAN (Amazon) - Abbie Cornish (Sucker Punch) has been tapped as the female lead opposite John Krasinski in the upcoming drama, about the famed and lauded Tom Clancy hero. She'll play Cathy Mueller, "a doctor specializing in infectious diseases. She is intelligent, competitive, a rising star in the medical world and Jack's love interest." (Deadline.com)
LAKESIDE VA (ABC, New!) - Shelly Gossman ("Raising Hope") has scored a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for a new single-camera comedy about "a C+ team of VA hospital employees who are underfunded, understaffed, and stopped overworking themselves to make up for it years ago, until a new hotshot female chief of surgery steps in to turn them into an A team." Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak of the Warner Bros. Television-based That's Wonderful Productions also serve as executive producers with Bill Wrubel serving as showrunner. (Deadline.com)
MELTING POTTS (ABC, New!) - Ryan Jaffe ("This Is Happening") has sold a single-camera comedy to the Alphabet about "a blended family made up of equal parts Indian, Muslim, Jewish, and New Jersey. It is about a newly married couple struggling against culture, tradition and generations to build their idea of a "normal" American family." ABC Studios is behind the half-hour with Simpson Street's Kerry Washington and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
MIDSUMMER'S NIGHTMARE, A (Lifetime) - Courtney Love has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot as "a mysterious woman in the woods who is part of the sinister forces that turn the lovers' dream getaway into a nightmare." (Deadline.com)
MURDER ROOM (CBS, New!) - Anna Fricke ("Being Human") has booked a new drama at the Eye about "a woman recruited by her mother into the Vidocq Society, an international think tank of the world's best forensic experts dedicated to solving the unsolvable." Mark Gordon, Jim Young and Tatiana Kelly are also on board to executive produce for CBS Television Studios and the eOne Entertainment-based Mark Gordon Co. (Variety.com)
PATRIOTS (CBS, New!) - Anna Fricke ("Being Human") has set up a potential drama at the Eye about "an estranged brother and sister - an FBI agent and a professor with former ties to Islamic extremism - who unexpectedly reunite to counter violent terrorism in the city of Boston." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour, home to her recent overall deal. Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker of Scott Free Productions will also serve as executive producers. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED TODD KOMARNICKI PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Todd Komarnicki (Sully) has booked a potential drama at the Peacock which "follows the life of the world's leading finder of missing persons as he searches nonstop, driven by the one person he could not find in time... his own daughter." Mark Clayman, Gulfstream Television's Mike Karz and Bill Bindley will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. Tim Miller, whose real life journey inspired the project, will serve as an executive consultant. (Deadline.com)
WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER (Netflix) - Joey Bragg ("Liv and Maddie") is the latest to board the new season as Seth, "a fast-talking camp counselor at Camp Firewood." (Deadline.com)
WORKAHOLICS (Comedy Central) - The long-running comedy series will sign off after seven seasons next year. "We would like to thank Comedy Central, Doug Herzog, Kent Alterman and all of the fans for turning us from Boyz II Men," said Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck in a statement to the publication. "It was an incredible run but we've decided to leave on a HIGH note. Get it?" (Deadline.com)
