25 (CBS) - Matt Shively, Emily Osment, Denée Benton and Jessie Ennis are all slated to star in the comedy pilot, with Chris Koch now set to direct and executive produce. Shively's Kyle is "a smart, intense and confident young man who has moved to Austin ostensibly to start his own software company. But he's really in town to declare his love for Kate." Osment's Kate then is "a fun, competitive, bright medical student. Kyle may have been in love with her for the past decade or so - but as far as Kate is concerned, he is strictly in the friend zone. She is delighted when her longtime boyfriend Jimmy proposes to her, just after Kyle arrives in town." Osment's casting is in first position to Freeform's "Young & Hungry," which is not expected to return. Benton will play Morgan, "Kate's roommate and best friend. Morgan knows right away that Kyle is angling to win Kate away from her fiancé - and although she understands Kyle's feelings, she wants to protect Kate from getting hurt." And Ennis will play Becca, "Kate and Morgan's good friend, who can be "the life (or death)" of the party based on her mood." (Deadline.com)
CAGNEY & LACEY (CBS) - Sarah Drew ("Grey's Anatomy") and Michelle Hurd ("Blindspot") have booked the title roles on the Eye's reboot of Barbara Avedon and Barbara Corday's 1980s staple, which will follow two female police detectives and friends who keep the streets of L.A. safe. The former will play Christine Cagney, "Lacey's nimble and easygoing partner and protégée"; with the latter as Monique Lacey, "athletic, polished, a former high school track and field champion. Empathetic and straightforward, she's the more experienced partner." (Deadline.com)
CODE, THE (CBS) - Dave Annable has been tapped for a role on the drama pilot, in which the military's brightest minds take on our country's toughest challenges - inside the courtroom and out - where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator - and a Marine. He's set as Capt. John "Sid" Sidney, "a whip-smart pragmatist with a charming habit of tardiness. Sidney is a driven prosecutor and active-duty Marine, a lifestyle chosen for him thanks to family tradition but a responsibility he treats with devotion and passion." (Deadline.com)
DAN THE WEATHERMAN (FOX) - Thomas Lennon ("The Odd Couple") has likewise scored the title role on the single-camera comedy pilot, in which after getting fired from his cushy job as a weatherman at the local TV station, Dan finds it's not enough to be a charming white man in this world. He reluctantly ends up at the neighboring Spanish TV station. (Deadline.com)
EUPHORIA (HBO) - The pay channel has given Sam Levinson's drama - about a group of high school students as they attempt to cope through drugs, sex and violence in an effort to make sense of an uncertain future - a pilot commitment. The project is based on the 2012 Israeli series from Teddy Productions. (Deadline.com)
F.B.I. (CBS) - Ebonée Noel ("Still Star-Crossed") is the latest to board the Dick Wolf-produced drama as Kristen Yessayen, "an analyst who's recruited straight out of university, and even though she doesn't carry a gun, she hardly could be more valued. Whip smart, opinionated, with an incredible capacity to grind, she is broadly educated, deeply analytical - basically, the resource the FBI is always searching for. She pieces together the big picture faster than anyone, and loves to tell you about it." (Deadline.com)
FAM (CBS) - Tone Bell is the latest set to star in the comedy pilot, about Clem (Nina Dobrev), "a woman whose dreams of an upstanding life with her new fiancé, Jay (Bell), and his upstanding family are dashed when her train-wreck younger half sister (Odessa Adlon) comes to live with her to escape their train wreck of a father. Bell will play Jay, a sophisticated NYU history professor who comes from old money but is refreshingly unaffected and down-to-earth despite his refined background. Deeply in love with Clem (Dobrev), he proposes to her - much to the delight of his parents, Walt (Brian Stokes Mitchell) and Rose (Sheryl Lee Ralph), who think Clem is a real catch. But he learns that Clem has not been completely honest about a few key elements in her life: For example, her father isn't actually dead - and it drives a wedge of mistrust between them that might not be easily mended." (Deadline.com)
GET SHORTY (Epix) - Amy Seimetz has booked a recurring role on the show's sophomore run as Jinny, "a mysterious love interest for Miles (Chris O'Dowd) who performs a strange, new-age "crystal ceremony" and could open doors to an elite Hollywood world. The more Miles learns about her, the more he realizes she's not the person she's pretending to be." (Deadline.com)
INFAMY (FOX) - Riley Smith ("Frequency") has been tapped for a role on the Rachelle Lefevre-led pilot, a legal drama set in an wrongful conviction firm. Led by a fierce and fearless female lawyer with a hunger for justice, the team reopens investigations, putting their own lives in danger to exonerate the innocent that were 'proven' guilty. He'll play Levi Scott, "Madeleine Scott's (Lefevre) brother." (Deadline.com)
TAKE TWO (ABC) - Aliyah O'Brien and Alice Lee are both bound for the Rachel Bilson/Eddie Cibrian-led drama. The former will play Christine Rollins, "an experienced investigator and Eddie's chief contact at the LAPD." Lee then will portray Monica, "Sam's long-suffering assistant. Incredibly competent and loyal, she does her best to stand by her star through the best of times and the worst of times." (Deadline.com)
