CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- After a week of speculation, FOX has announced that additional episodes of the new season of "Joe Millionaire" will fill the network's Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c slot this fall. The news comes after last week's announcement that its summer reality series "American Juniors" would not return for a second season in October.
The four extra episodes of "Millionaire" will begin airing Tuesday, October 28 when "Juniors" was previously set to rejoin the network's schedule. Because of the weekly double-runs, "Millionaire" will wrap earlier than originally thought: the two-hour finale is set to air Monday, November 24, the final Monday of the sweeps period.
It's not clear what will take over the Monday and Tuesday, 8:00/7:00c slots come December. In January however, the midseason drama "Wonderfalls" and the new season of "American Idol" are planned to take over said time periods.
Despite the additional hype for "Millionaire," FOX has yet to reveal any details about the new season which bows Monday, October 20 at 8:00/7:00c.
