The Book of Daniel's offbeat examination of spirituality in the modern world captured the imagination of critics across the country when it debuted on NBC. The show is "mordantly witty, refreshingly intelligent," raves Tim Stack of Entertainment Weekly. It's "a lively, unpredictable jumble of 'Desperate Housewives,' 'Six Feet Under' and maybe The Ten Commandments," says Tom Gliatto, of People, awarding it "3 out of 4 stars." Matt Roush of TV Guide notes, "The A-list cast is terrific and the writing sharp and funny."
