Garry Trudeau is behind the project, which also stars Kobi Libii and Yara Martinez. (Deadline.com)

BAD TEACHER (CBS) - David Alan Grier ("Life with Bonnie") is the first to be cast in the comedy pilot, based on the feature of the same name about Meredith Davis, a foul-mouthed, gold-digging junior high school teacher. He's set as Carl Gaines, the school's principal, a divorcee who spends his off hours with his support group, P.I.T.S. (People In Terrible Situations). Hilary Winston penned the single-camera project, which is set up at Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)

BLOODLINES (NBC) - Tom Everett Scott ("Southland") has scored a role on the drama pilot, about Bird Benson (Skyler Samuels), a smart, irreverent and strong young girl who, due to an accident of birth, finds herself caught in the middle of an epic struggle between two warrior families set against the backdrop of modern suburbia. He'll play her adoptive father, Christopher Benson, a doctor. Jonathan Banks and KaDee Strickland also star in the Universal Television-based hour, from director Peter Berg and writer David Graziano. COMPANY TOWN (The CW) - Gage Golightly ("Teen Wolf") has booked a principal role on the drama pilot, about the lives and loves of the young people at the Norfolk Naval Station. She'll play Krista Wilmont, who's happily engaged to Paul White, a lieutenant in the Navy, but begins to show her vulnerable side when he gets involved in a scandal. HAPPINESS (NBC) - Thomas Lennon ("Reno 911!") has joined the cast of the multi-camera comedy pilot, about a man (Sean Hayes) who must figure out how to become a full-time dad to his 14-year-old daughter as well as navigate his temperamental new boss at work. He'll play Max ("blunt, gruff and seemingly fine with not being liked"), the new owner of the online retail company where Sean works. Echo Kellum and Linda Lavin also star in the Universal Television-based project, from director James Burrows and writer Victor Fresco. (Deadline.com)

TOMORROW PEOPLE, THE (The CW) - Peyton List ("Mad Men") has been tapped for a lead role on the drama pilot, about young people from around the world who possesses special powers as a result of the next stage in human evolution. She'll play Cara, a beautiful, anxious member of a group of said individuals who have banded together to avoid a secret government program tasked with controlling them. Danny Cannon is helming the Warner Bros. Television-based hour off a script by Greg Berlanti, Phil Klemmer and Julie Plec based on the U.K. series of the same name. (Deadline.com)

UP ALL NIGHT (NBC) - The Peacock has reportedly scrapped its multi-camera reboot of the comedy. Originally given a five-episode order, the new incarnation was rolled back to just one episode last week after co-star Christina Applegate announced her departure. Subsequently, at least one of its two remaining stars, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph, "told the network they were uncomfortable going forward with the series." Sitcom mainstay James Burrows had been attached to direct the new "pilot" from a script by incoming showrunner Linda Wallem. (Deadline.com)
