ANTHEM (Showtime, New!) - Jon Lovett ("1600 Penn") has sold a political drama to the pay channel which chronicles "what happens when our political system collapses under the weight of mistrust and partisan division. The pilot begins on a typical presidential election day. When it ends, America is on the brink of a second civil war." Brian Koppelman and David Levien will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)


DIRTY DEEDS (FOX, New!) - Oscar nominee Sheldon Turner and Emmy winner Tommy Schlamme are set to team for a new drama at the network about Tommy Deeds, "a vigilant ATF agent and family man who works undercover as a hitman - a job that exposes him to the wild, dark and often humorous soul of the human condition." The project, which has a penalty attached, is based on the 2013 GQ article "Oops, You Just Hired the Wrong Hitman" by Jeanne Marie Laskas. David Wolthoff and Larry Shuman will also executive produce alongside Vendetta Productions' Jennifer Klein and Shoe Money Productions' Julie DeJoie for Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)


TRADECRAFT (A.K.A. BELLICHER) (FOX/Sony; W: Sheldon Turner; D: TBA) - Sheldon Turner's drama, about an arrogant and entitled corporate consultant who gets embroiled in a grand conspiracy that forces him to go on the run, is being redeveloped by the network. Turner expected to write a new script, which is based on Charles den Tex's book-turned-Dutch mini-series "The Power of Mr. Miller." Turner and Jennifer Klein will executive produce via their studio-based Vendetta Productions alongside Rob Golenberg and Alon Aranya of Scripted World Entertainment. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED FINA LUDLOW PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Ingrid Thoft's Fina Ludlow book series - about "the brash, intelligent, hot-mess daughter of Carl and Elaine Ludlow, who left Harvard Law School and found her "voice" as the firm's brash and controversial legal investigator" - is being developed as a drama at the Alphabet. Clifton Campbell ("The Glades") is penning the pilot script with Staple herself, Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper also executive producing for ABC Studios. (THR.com)
