DAYTIME EXCLUSIVE! OPRAH WINFREY RETURNS TO THE DR. PHIL STAGE FOR A RARE INTERVIEW AND TO PREVIEW HER EXCITING NEW TELEVISION EVENT, AIRING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15

(Hollywood, CA - October 13, 2015) - In a daytime television exclusive, Oprah Winfrey returns to the DR. PHIL stage for a rare interview and catch up with Dr. Phil. They recall unforgettable times from their over 20-year friendship and working relationship, as well as Oprah's life today running her OWN cable network. She also brings an exclusive sneak preview of her exciting new television project, the 7-part OWN documentary series "Belief." The episode airs Thursday, October 15 (check local listings).

In the show, Oprah and Dr. Phil look back on their long and eventful history, highlighting fun and notable moments they have shared over the years. They also recall the trial in Texas that started their professional relationship, which led to Dr. Phil's talked about appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," ultimately leading to his own successful talk show. Oprah also shares her sentimental feelings about packing up her office in Chicago and how proud she is of Dr. Phil, saying, "I must say, I done good raising ya!"

Then, Oprah presents her truly inspirational upcoming OWN series, "Belief," an epic 7-part television event that showcases powerful stories of people embarking on incredible spiritual journeys in the far reaches of the world. Oprah introduces some of the most compelling and extraordinary people and moments from the series. Among them are Reshma, a young woman who quit her job to travel to the Ganges River in India for the Kumbh Mela, the world's largest spiritual gathering, and Larissa and Ian, a couple who fell in love during college. After a horrific car accident, Ian suffered a traumatic brain injury, dramatically changing their relationship and showing them what it means to love unconditionally.

Select quotes from the episode:

"She called Jay's high school and said, 'I need him out of class' and the principal went to his class and said to Jay, 'Somebody that sounded a whole lot like Oprah Winfrey just called.'" - Dr. Phil on Oprah pulling his son Jay out of high school in 1998 so he could be there for support during her Texas trial.

"I wanted you to come on television and do for the other people what you had done for me. How you allowed me to see a deeper part of myself." - Oprah Winfrey on why she wanted Dr. Phil to make regular appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."

"My great hope was to create a series that would be 'Planet Spirit' for our planet so that we would be able to see what people of the world believe and how that connects us as one." - Oprah Winfrey on what she hopes to achieve with her new documentary series "Belief."

DR. PHIL is produced by Peteski Productions in association with CBS Television Distribution, which also distributes the show. Carla Pennington and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are the executive producers.
