COLOR OF COLA, THE (HBO, New!) - Mitchell Kapner (Oz the Great and Powerful) is penning a docudrama for the pay channel based on Stephanie Capparell's nonfiction book "The Real Pepsi Challenge," "an account of how Pepsi broke racial barriers in 1940s America." Mark Landsman, Michael Karbelnikoff and Peter Kline will also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (ABC) - Paulo Costanzo is joining the cast of the show's second season as Lyor Boone, "the new White House Political Director - a whiz kid brought on by Emily (Italia Ricci) to help a presidency struggling with its messaging and political strategy." (TVLine.com)
JETSONS, THE (New!) - Gary Janetti is reportedly spearheading a "live-action sitcom remake of Hanna-Barbera's beloved '60s animated series about a family residing in the futuristic, outer-space utopia known as Orbit City." Warner Bros. Television, Nickleby, Inc. and Compari Entertainment are behind the project, which is set to make the network rounds in the coming weeks. Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke then will executive produce alongside Janetti. (TVLine.com)
WHITE FAMOUS (Showtime) - Jack Davenport, Michael Rapaport, Lyndon Smith, Cleopatra Coleman and Lucien Laviscount are all bound for the Jay Pharoah-led comedy. Davenport will play Peter King, "a network president who's super positive and super happy to be in business with Floyd"; with Rapaport as Teddy Snow, "a disheveled and intense Oscar-winning actor turned director"; Smith as Gwen, "a beautiful young actress who will play Teddy Snow's daughter in his next movie"; Coleman as Sadie, "the mother of Floyd's son Trevor (Lonnie Chavis)"; and Laviscount as Robbie, "a very handsome and talented British actor auditioning with Floyd for Teddy's project." Megalyn Echikunwoke originated the role of Sadie in the pilot. (Deadline.com)
