AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE (ABC) - The Alphabet has ordered additional two episodes of the series, bringing its season total to 24 episodes. (Deadline.com)
BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Chantal Thuy will recur on the midseason drama as Grace Choi, "a bartender who becomes the love interest of Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams). Grace is a comic book fan who befriends Anissa while she is coming to terms with her abilities and becomes Anissa's first confidant about the struggles and challenges of having abilities." BLACK-ISH (ABC) - The Alphabet has ordered additional two episodes of the series, bringing its season total to 24 episodes. (Deadline.com)
CIRCUS, THE (Showtime) - The pay channel has cut ties with Mark Halperin after he conceded "aggressive and crude" behavior towards women while at ABC News. (Deadline.com)
FILTHY RICH (FOX, New!) - Writer/director Tate Taylor (The Help) is looking to import Gavin Strawhan and Rachel Lang's New Zealand drama about "the family of a mega-wealthy Southern businessman who is stunned to learn there are three previously-unknown heirs to his fortune. When the family tries to pay them off to go away, the newly legitimate heirs have very different ideas." Wyolah Films' John Norris and Imagine Television's Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo are also on board to executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. The project has a put pilot commitment. GOTHAM (FOX) - Peyton List has been tapped to play the new Poison Ivy on the series. Previous incarnations saw the character played by Clare Foley and Maggie Geha. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - The Alphabet has ordered additional two episodes of the series, bringing its season total to 24 episodes. (Deadline.com)
HOUSE OF CARDS (Netflix) - The streaming service is pulling the plug on the series following allegations against co-star Kevin Spacey of sexual assault. The series is currently in production on its 13-episode sixth - and now final - season. It's understood Netflix and producer Media Rights Capital are "in very early stages of development on multiple ideas for a potential spinoff." Former executive producer Eric Roth is spearheading one such effort revolving around Doug Stamper, "the political aide-de-camp played by actor Michael Kelly." Two others are reportedly being explored but no specifics or auspices were given. (Variety.com)
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY (Freeform, New!) - Courtney Moreno's book - about Harper Gallagher, "a beautiful, funny and strong millennial who is a work superhero and a mere young mortal in her personal life" - is being developed as a drama at the cable channel. Camilla Blackett will pen the script with Circle of Confusion's Brad Mendelsohn and Elana Barry as well as eOne's Carolyn Newman likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
MAKING FRIENDS (Amazon) - Adhir Kalyan has scored the lead role on Carter Bays and Craig Thomas's multi-camera comedy pilot, about Mark, "a brilliant guy with an artificial intelligence degree who creates robots and spends his days hanging out with them as his main group of friends." Brian Brockrath, Seth Rogen, James Weaver and Evan Goldberg as well as director Pamela Fryman are also executive producing for Sony Pictures Television. (Deadline.com)
PLAYING HOUSE (USA) - Jessica St. Clair took to social media to announce the series has been canceled after three seasons. (@Jessica_StClair)
SNOW BLIND (FOX, New!) - Vaun Wilmott ("Dominion") has sold a new drama to the network about Sheriff Billy Bowden, "who, after a local story on him goes viral, struggles to keep his past life of crime and his placement in witness protection hidden from his friends and family in a small Alaska town." The project, which has a penalty attached, is based on the graphic novel by Ollie Masters and Tyler Jenkins. Boom! Studios' Stephen Christy and Ross Richie will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. (Deadline.com)
YOU (Lifetime) - Michael Maize and Ambyr Childers will both recur on the upcoming psychological thriller as Officer Nico, "a dogged and savvy detective"; and Candace, "a girl from Joe's (Penn Badgley) past." (Deadline.com)
