BOB (HEARTS) ABISHOLA (CBS, New!) - "Mike & Molly" alums Billy Gardell and Chuck Lorre are set to re-team for a multi-camera comedy at the Eye in which "after having a heart attack, a man (Gardell) falls in love with his Nigerian nurse and sets his sights on getting her to give him a chance." Lorre, Eddie Gorodetsky, Al Higgins and Gina Yashere are penning the half-hour, which has a pilot production commitment, for the former's Warner Bros. TV-based Chuck Lorre Productions. (Deadline.com)
CHARMED (The CW) - Nick Hargrove has joined the cast of the reboot series as Parker: "President of the Phi Delta Upsilon fraternity, Parker is the quintessential upper-class pretty boy with a wild streak and a sensitive side. His charm and confidence catch Maggie's (Sarah Jeffery) eye when he defends her from a rude customer at her waitressing job." (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Tye White has scored a recurring role on the series as Tyler, "a former athlete turned college scout." (Deadline.com)
FOR ALL MANKIND (Apple) - Jodi Balfour has joined the cast of the upcoming space drama as Ellen Waverly. No further details were given. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Bradley Whitford's Commander Joseph Lawrence has been named series regular for the upcoming third season. (Deadline.com)
HOW HIGH 2 (MTV) - DC Young Fly, Alyssa Goss, DeRay Davis and Mary Lynn Rajskub will join Lil Yachty in the small screen sequel. No details were given about their characters. Additionally, NeNe Leakes, Tameka "Tiny" Harris and Cynthia Bailey are also slated to appear. (Deadline.com)
LIFE LESSONS (CBS, New!) - Mark Gross has sold a small screen take on Dave Keystone and Nolan Sarner's Canadian digital series "Kids On," about "a guy who is a professional failure at life and finds advice and friendship in the most unlikely of places... a class of first graders." The multi-camera comedy comes from CBS Television Studios with Cloud Nine Productions' Eric Christian Olsen and Kate Schumaecker also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
MARVEL'S RUNAWAYS (Hulu) - Jan Luis Castellanos has been cast in the new season as Topher, "a crafty runaway who schools our kids on new levels of street game. The consummate survivor, Topher knows how to read the room and win friends." (@Marvel)
NURSES (CBS, New!) - Cathryn Humphris has set up a domestic take on the Finnish series about "four trauma center nurses charged with everything from triage to surgery who must balance life and death stakes on the job with the drama of their complicated lives outside the hospital." ON BECOMING A GOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA (YouTube) - Julie Benz will recur on the Kirsten Dunst-led series as Carole Wilkes, "a big-haired and buxom FAM wife who's much farther up the pyramid than Krystal (Dunst)." (Deadline.com)
SNEAKY PETE (Amazon) - Comedian Jeff Ross is set to recur on the show's third season as Doug Decker, AKA DC Doug, "a behind the scenes political power player with a taste for high end wine and decadence." (Deadline.com)
THICKER THAN WATER (ABC, New!) - Tig Notaro and Cara DiPaolo have scored a pilot production commitment from the Alphabet for a new drama which "centers on a single mother who returns to her Tennessee hometown for her estranged father's funeral, and finds herself graveside with several strangers who happen to be her half-siblings." Something Fierce Productions' Stephanie Allynne and Stearns Castle's Michael McDonald will also executive produce for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JOSEPH C. WILSON PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Joseph C. Wilson has booked a potential drama at the network about Melvin Reed, "a larger-than-life District Commander. With the beating heart of faith driving his commitment to his squad, his community and his family, he sets out to do the impossible - transform one of the most crime-ridden districts in Baltimore by transforming the hearts and minds of both his officers and the residents they're sworn to protect." The 20th Century Fox TV-based project, which has a penalty attached, is inspired by the life of Melvin Russell, who serves as a producer on the project. CubeVision's Ice Cube, Jeff Kwatinetz and Ben Hurwitz will executive produce alongside Wilson. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MIDDLE SPIN-OFF PROJECT (ABC) - Brock Ciarlelli - who played Sue Heck's (Eden Sher) best friend, Brad Bottig, on "The Middle" - has been cast in the spin-off. Said effort, tentatively titled "Sue Sue in the City," will "focus on Sue as she leaves college and her hometown of Orson, Indiana, for the ups and downs of a career and young adulthood in Chicago - apparently with Brad still as part of her support system."
