BAIT & TACKLE (CBS, New!) - Linda Figueiredo has booked a multi-camera comedy at the Eye about "three adult siblings who must step up to run the family business - a small town bait & tackle shop - when the family patriarch retires." CuzBro's Brian Kelley (of Florida Georgia Line fame) and Alcide Bava Productions' Johnny Galecki and Holly Brown are also on board to executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
BEST LIVES (FOX, New!) - Daisy Gardner has sold a potential comedy to the network about "a brother and sister who are each starting over after a divorce. The child-free brother, who just left a one-year marriage with a cat, is convinced he's going through the exact same thing as his overstretched sister, who just left a 10-year marriage with a kid, and doesn't get that their challenges are completely different scales of magnitude." CBS Television Studios is behind the project with Long Con's Lisa Harrison also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
CHICAGO MED (NBC) - Ian Harding will recur on the veteran drama as Phillip Davis, "a man facing a medical crisis which bonds him with Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto)." (TVLine.com)
FAM (CBS) - Showrunner Bob Kushell has been dismissed from the midseason entry "following a complaint that he had used insensitive language in the writers' room." He'll be succeeded by creator Corinne Kingsbury on the remaining three episodes of its 13 order while Joe Port and Joe Wiseman have been elevated to executive producers. (Deadline.com)
KING OF STING (FOX, New!) - Dave Kalstein has sold a new drama to the network "based on the true story of the most successful undercover operative in DEA history, who happens to be an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala named Carlos Sagastume." Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo and Samie Falvey of Imagine Television also serve as executive producers on the eOne-set project with Carlos Sagastume, Zahra Sagastume, Damien Lewis and Luke Speed as co-executive producers. LOVE, DAD (ABC, New!) - Dave Collard has set up a potential drama at the Alphabet about "adult siblings from a blue-collar family in the most blue-collar of cities - Buffalo, New York. As the siblings navigate the ups and downs of their lives, they're aided (and sometimes impeded) by each other, but also an unlikely source - their dead father, who has left them each an email account that he's been writing to for their entire lives, so that he would always be there for them... even when he wasn't." Alfresco Pictures' Freddie Highmore will also executive produce for Sony Pictures Television with the company's Claire Londy serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
ORDINARY JOE (NBC, New!) - Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner have landed a put pilot commitment from the Peacock for a new drama about "the titular Joe facing a dramatic crossroads: Will he choose love, loyalty, or his artistic passion? It then jumps forward 10 years and follows three different paths Joe's life takes based on each choice he could have made a decade earlier." The project is based a pilot that fellow executive producer Matt Reeves first wrote for ABC back in 2006. 6th & Idaho's Rafi Crohn and Adam Kassan and 3 Arts Entertainment's Howard Klein will also executive produce for 20th Century Fox Television. SAFE HARBOR (FOX, New!) - Writer Sheldon Turner and director McG have landed a put pilot commitment at the network for a new drama about "an investigative branch of the U.S. Coast Guard in Miami Beach as they confront a wide array of crimes and catastrophes on land and sea." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour with Wonderland Sound & Vision's Mary Viola; Vendetta Productions' Jennifer Klein; and Lawrence Bender and Kevin Brown also serving as executive producers. SWAMP THING (DC) - Will Patton has been tapped to play Avery Sunderland on the upcoming DC Comics series. (@TheDCUniverse)
UNDRESSED (MTV, New!) - Roland Joffé's 1999-2002 soap, which "which explored the complicated dynamics of young adult relationships," is being eyed for a revival at MTV Studios. Joffé's is attached to executive produce the project, no other details of which were given. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MICHAEL YO PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Comedian Michael Yo is set to star in a semi-autobiographical comedy at the network about "a young couple's life that is made more complicated when the guy's (Yo) over-achieving African American, PhD Scientist/Ex-Military father and scheming Asian mother show up to help them take care of their newborn baby and adjust to their new surroundings." Yo and Nick Adams are co-writing the multi-camera project for CBS Television Studios with Oops Doughnuts' Andy Fickman likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
