By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

ALL RISE (OWN) - The cast of the courtroom drama has been released in advance of the completion of its third season, due later this year. The series was revived by OWN for a 20-episode third season after its cancellation by CBS in 2021. (Deadline.com)
DROP-OFF (ABC) - Nancy Lenehan has scored a role on the Ellie Kemper-led comedy pilot as Marianne, "the warm, caring and responsible mother of Julia (Kemper) who's been taking care of her kids for the last six years. Having been a working single mom herself, Marianne is not without compassion for Julia's situation and she loves her grandchildren, but she's done. Marianne has decided to live her own life from now on, and that includes having an affair with a guy named Rene and firmly taking some time for herself." (Variety.com)
FBOY ISLAND/FGIRL ISLAND (The CW, New!) - The network is reportedly on track to order a third season of former HBO Max series "FBoy Island" as well as debut its new spin-off, the gender flipped "FGirl Island." STX Entertainment is behind both projects with Elan Gale among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
JUDGEMENT (ABC) - Portia Doubleday, Christine Adams and Ken Kirby are the latest to join Sarah Shahi, Reid Scott and François Arnaud in the drama pilot. Doubleday will play Eloise "Ellie" Roth, "a quirky, eternally optimistic, up-and-coming associate who strikes an immediate friendship with her new colleague, Mia (Shahi)." Adams portrays Monica Moore, "who has a fearless intensity thanks to a long career with the FBI, where she's had to dodge both bullets and institutional misogyny." And Kirby is Andrew Chang, "with a friendly demeanor and upbeat energy, Andrew Chang is the Deputy White House Counsel who joins FBI agent Monica Moore (Adams) in interrogating Judge Mia Bahari (Shahi) as part of the vetting process for a possible Supreme Court seat." (Deadline.com)
PENGUIN, THE (HBO Max) - Michael Zegen, James Madio, Scott Cohen and Theo Rossi have all scored roles on "The Batman" spin-off series. No character details were given other than Zegen is believed to be playing Alberto Falcone, "son of Gotham City crime boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro)." (Deadline.com, Variety.com)
SIX OF CROWS (Netflix, New!) - Eric Heisserer is spearheading a "Shadow and Bone" spin-off series "to tackle the main events of author Leigh Bardugo's duology, including the jurda parem Grisha drug storyline," set after the season two finale. "One of the reasons, not all of them, that I got the privilege of working with Daegan Fryklind as co-showrunner in season 2 is that I was busy with the writers' room for Six of Crows. We are ready to launch that as its own story," Heisserer told the publication. "The eight-episode scripts are phenomenal and I'm really proud of my team for those." (EW.com)
WILLOW (Disney+) - Creator Jon Kasdan took to social media to further characterize yesterday's reports that his sequel series has been canceled. He indicates that while the show's main cast has been released and filming won't resume in the next 12 months, the already written second season may yet happen. (@JonKasdan)
