October 3, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - The CW Network is delivering dramatic double-digit growth with regularly scheduled programming compared to The WB a year ago in the network's target demos of adults 18-34 (21%, 1.7/6 v. 1.4/4) and women 18-34 (29%, 2.2/7 v. 1.7/5), as well as viewers (13%, 3.6mil v. 3.2mil), adults 18-49 (15%, 1.5/4 v. 1.3/4) and women 18-49 (12%, 1.9/5 v. 1.7/4), from the network's debut on Wednesday, Sept. 20 through Sunday, Oct 1. The CW mirrors The WB's scheduling model with 6 nights and 13 hours of primetime programming.

Through the CW's launch, which concludes tonight with "Veronica Mars," series formerly on UPN have moved to a new local station in more than two-thirds of the U.S., while series formerly on The WB have transitioned to new stations in nearly one-third of the U.S.

Tuesday 9/26/06

Returning for its seventh season, "Gilmore Girls" made its CW debut ranking third in the network's target demos of adults 18-34 (2.2/7) and women 18-34 (3.5/10) in the highly competitive 8-9:00PM time period, which included "House" and "Dancing With The Stars."

"Gilmore Girls" grew in the second half hour in key demos and viewers, increasing 15% in adults 18-34, 9% in women 18-34 and adding nearly 600,000 viewers at 8:30PM.

Wednesday 9/27/06

"America's Next Top Model" opened The CW's Wednesday in winning fashion, ranking first in its target demos of women 18-34 (4.0/12) and adults 18-34 (2.8/9-tie), versus tough reality competition from "Dancing With The Stars" and "Biggest Loser."

In week two, "America's Next Top Model" posted gains over the year ago telecast (9/28/05) in all key demos, including 12% in adults 18-34, 5% in women 18-34, 14% in adults 18-49 (2.4/7), 13% in women 18-49 (3.5/9) and 2% in viewers (4.7million).

The "One Tree Hill" premiere retained more of its "Top Model" lead-in among adults 18-34 (2.2/7, 75%) and women 18-34 (70%) than any show to debut after "Top Model."

The CW's new Wednesday line-up marks an improvement over either UPN or The WB on the same night a year ago (9/28/05) in all key demos. Compared to The WB's Wednesday, The CW was up 167% in adults 18-34, 162% in women 18-34, 150% in adults 18-49 and 155% in women 18-49. Versus UPN's year ago Wednesday, The CW improved 9% in adults 18-34, 6% in women 18-34, 11% in adults 18-49 and 12% in women 18-49.

Thursday 9/28/06

The CW Thursday line-up of "Smallville" and "Supernatural" debuted in stronger form in key demos than when the two were first paired together on the WB on March 30, 2006, improving by 10% in adults 18-34 (2.2/6), 14% in men 18-34 (2.4/8), 14% in adults 18-49 (2.0/5), and 100,000 viewers (4.4million). This also matches the best performance of the "Smallville," "Supernatural" pairing on The WB last year (4/20/06) in adults 18-34, women 18-34 (2.0/5) and men 18-34.

Considering the incredibly tougher competition this year on Thursday, The CW equaled the year ago night on The WB and up 22% over UPN a year ago in adults 18-34.

The "Smallville" premiere kicked off Thursday to this week's "America's Next Top Model." In relation to Wednesday's episode of "Top Model," "Smallville" garnered a larger audience (5.0million vs. 4.7million) and was within 0.3 tenths in adults 18-34 (2.5/8 vs. 2.8/9).

"Supernatural" out-performed last year's premiere of "Everwood" Thursday at 9PM on The WB by 46% in adults 18-34 (1.9/5), 111% in men 18-34 (1.9/6), 19% in women 18-34 (1.9/4), 31% in adults 18-49 (1.7/4), 60% in men 18-49 (1.6/4) and 11% in viewers (3.9mil).

For the night, The CW's Thursday line-up beat Fox in adults 18-34, men 18-34, adults 18-49 and men 18-49 (1.9/5).

Friday 9/29/06

"Friday Night SmackDown" once again gave The CW a second place finish for the night in the target demo of men 18-34 (1.7/8) and men 18-49 (1.8/7-tie). "SmackDown" also beat Fox in adults 18-34 (1.4/6), adults 18-49 (1.4/5) and viewers (4.0mil).

Compared to its performance on UPN a year ago (9/30/05), "SmackDown" on The CW improved by 6% in men 18-34, 8% in adults 18-49, 6% in men 18-49 and more than 100,000 viewers. "SmackDown" matched the same night last year in adults 18-34.

"SmackDown" continues to post dramatic increases over the WB's line-up of original comedies on the same night a year ago, with increases of 27% in adults 18-34, 113% in men 18-34, 27% in adults 18-49, 157% in men 18-49 and more than 1.5 million viewers.

"SmackDown" built over its CW premiere last week in viewers (8%), adults 18-49 (8%) and men 18-49 (13%) and matched last week in adults 18-34.
