'TALENT' DELIVERS THE BIGGEST PREMIERE FOR A SUMMER SERIES SO FAR THIS YEAR AND SCORES A FIVE-MONTH TIME-PERIOD HIGH IN 18-49

BURBANK, Calif. � June 12, 2007 � The June 5 season premiere of NBC's "America's Got Talent" has scored the week's #2 rating in adults 18-49 (tie) and has finished #1 for the week among all primetime broadcast programs in total viewers.

For the week of June 4-12, NBC has averaged a 1.7 rating, 5 share in adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The second-season premiere of "America's Got Talent" dominated Tuesday night, scoring the evening's #1 results in all key ratings categories and delivering NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period in five months. In addition to ranking #1 for the week in total viewers, "America's Got Talent" finished #1 among kids 2-11, teens 12-17 and adults 25-54.

Primetime averages for the week of June 4-10 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.4/8), ABC (2.0/6), CBS (1.8/6), NBC (1.7/5), Univision (1.6/5), CW (0.7/2) and Telemundo (0.5/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (7.2 million), Fox (6.1 million), ABC (5.7 million), NBC (5.1 million), Univision (3.7 million), CW (2.0 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

In regular program averages through 38 weeks of the 2006-07 broadcast year, NBC is running within a tenth of a point of last year's average in adult 18-49 rating (3.1 vs. 3.2). While Fox is flat versus last year in regular-program averages, ABC is down 5 percent (from a 3.8 at this point last year to a 3.6 this year) and CBS is down 8 percent (from a 3.8 to a 3.5).

NBC highlights for the week of June 4-12:

* On Tuesday, the second season premiere of "America's Got Talent" was the top-rated show on television in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure, pacing NBC to a Tuesday night win and delivering NBC's highest 18-49 rating in the time period since January 2.

* "America's Got Talent" scored the highest results for any summer series premiere so far this year. "AGT" delivered its second-highest 18-49 rating ever and set a series record in total viewers.

* Also on Tuesday, "Deal or No Deal" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, scoring NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period since January 9 and largest overall viewership since September 19, 2006.

* Sunday's edition of "Dateline NBC" won its time period in 18-49 and posted NBC's highest rating in the slot in three months.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of June 4-12:

On Monday, June 4 from 8-11:05 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of game four of the National Hockey League Stanley Cup Finals (Anaheim Ducks vs. Ottawa Senators) averaged a 1.1 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, June 5 at 8 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (2.7/9 in 18-49, 10.1 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures, scoring NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period since January 9 and largest overall viewership since September 19, 2006.

Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET, the second-season premiere of "America's Got Talent" (4.3/12 in 18-49, 13.0 million viewers overall) dominated the competition by all key measures and scored NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period since January 2 and highest overall viewership in the slot since January 9

America's Got Talent" scored the highest results for any summer series premiere so far this year, topping the 18-49 and overall viewer totals of such rival series as "So You Think You Can Dance," "Hell's Kitchen," "Pirate Master," "Ex-Wives Club" and "Next Best Thing," among others

Among total viewers, this was the highest scoring edition of "America's Got Talent" ever. In adults 18-49, this was the second-highest result ever, behind only last summer's debut (a 4.6 rating in 18-49 and 12.4 million viewers overall on Wednesday, June 21, 2006).

NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures, marking the network's first Tuesday victory in 18-49 or total viewers since January 2.

On Wednesday, June 6 from 8-11 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the fifth and deciding game of the National Hockey League Stanley Cup Finals (Anaheim Ducks vs. Ottawa Senators) averaged a 1.3 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers overall. Game five was up 18 percent in 18-49 rating versus Monday's game four and up 117 percent versus Saturday's game three.

On Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore "My Name is Earl" averaged a 1.8/6 in 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall. Against all original competition on the other networks, "Earl" was #2 (tied) in adults 18-49. At 8:30 p.m., a second rebroadcast of "My Name is Earl" delivered a 1.8/6 in 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Office" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall. At 9:30 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Scrubs" delivered a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall. From 10-11 p.m., "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers overall.

On Friday, June 8 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" delivered a 1.3/5 in 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers overall.

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order" (1.7/6 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall) built on its 18-49 lead-in by 31 percent. "L&O" finished within a tenth of a rating point of the time-period lead in 18-49.

On Saturday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" averaged a 0.8/4 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall.

From 9-11 p.m. Saturday, a rebroadcast of the 2000 feature film "Scary Movie" delivered a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Scary Movie" built its 18-49 rating by 33 percent (to a 1.2/4 from a 0.9/3).

On Sunday, June 10 from 7-9 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 7.1 million viewers overall) finished #1 in the time period in 18-49, 25-54 and other key demographics with NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in three months (since March 8). In total viewers, it's NBC's top result in the slot since May 6. From its first half-hour to its last, "Dateline NBC" increased its 18-49 rating by 100 percent (to a 2.4/7 from a 1.2/4) and its overall viewership by 4.6 million persons or 96 percent.

Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Friday Night Lights" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall.

At 10 p.m. ET Sunday, a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.8.5 in 18-49, 5.9 million viewers overall) was the time period's #1 non-sports telecast in all key ratings categories. "SVU" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 64 percent. Week-to-week, "SVU" is up in 18-49 rating by 29 percent (1.8 vs. 1.4) and versus two weeks ago, SVU is up by 80 percent (1.8 vs. 1.0).
