'TALENT' SWELLS BY 63 PERCENT IN 18-49 AND 54 PERCENT IN OVERALL VIEWERS FROM ITS FIRST TO ITS FINAL HALF-HOUR

BURBANK, Calif. - June 20, 2007 � Last night, the season's third week of "America's Got Talent" was the top-rated show on television in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure, delivering its highest 18-49 rating so far this summer, according to preliminary "fast affiliate-based" "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Paced by "America's Got Talent," NBC won its third consecutive Tuesday night in adults 18-49 and total viewers.

From 8-10 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (4.4 rating, 14 share in adults 18-49, 12.4 million viewers overall) dominated the competitive landscape by all key ratings measures, doubling its closest competitors in adults 18-34, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 (pending updates). In adults 18-49, "Talent" prevailed by a 159 percent margin (4.4 vs. 1.7 for both the CBS and Fox 8-10 p.m. competition)

This was the highest-rated "Talent" so far this summer in adults 18-49 and the second-highest demo rating ever for the series, trailing only its original debut (a 4.6/14 from 9-11 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2006). "America's Got Talent" generated NBC's highest non-Olympic 18-49 rating in this time period in a year and a half (since December 20, 2005) and the biggest non-Olympic total viewership in the slot since November 29, 2005. Versus last week, "Talent" grew by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (4.4 vs. 3.9).

"Talent" exhibited extraordinary growth over its two-hour telecast, increasing by 63 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 5.2/15 from a 3.2/11) and by 54 percent in total viewers (to 14.5 million from 9.4 million) from its first to its fourth half-hour.

At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.9/9 in 18-49, 9.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in all key ratings categories, including adults 18-49 and total viewers. "SVU" beat the ABC-CBS competition combined among adults, men and women 18-34. "SVU" locked up its highest 18-49 rating for a rebroadcast since January 30 and its biggest encore audience overall since December 5, 2006.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for Tuesday night are: NBC, 3.9 rating, 12 share; CBS, 1.8/6; Fox 1.7/6; ABC, 1.3/4; CW, 0.6/2. In overall total viewers, June 19 preliminary results are: NBC, 11.4 million; CBS, 7.3 million; Fox, 4.5 million; ABC, 3.6 million; and CW, 1.4 million.

In local-market late-night results last night, "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (4.5 rating, 11 share in metered-market households) defeated CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" (2.9/7 with an encore telecast) and ABC's "Nightline" (2.8/6) and "Jimmy Kimmel Live" (1.4/5). Jay has finished #1 versus regular late-night competition on 194 of 197 nights so far this broadcast year in the metered markets (including ties).

At 12:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" (2.0/7) beat CBS' "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" (1.3/5) and the second half of Kimmel. Conan has finished #1 versus regular competition on 187 of 197 nights so far this broadcast year in the metered markets (including ties).
