'SINGING BEE' ALSO RANKS IN THE WEEK'S TOP 10 IN 18-49, TOTAL VIEWERS AND OTHER KEY MEASURES

THE MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY EDITIONS OF 'DATELINE' WIN THEIR SLOTS IN ADULTS 18-49 AND OTHER KEY MEASURES

BURBANK, Calif. � August 14, 2007 � Paced by "America's Got Talent" and "The Singing Bee," NBC averaged a 1.8 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall for the week of August 6-12, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC's "America's Got Talent" was the #2-ranked telecast of the week in adults 18-49 and the #1 show in overall total viewers. Tuesday's telecast of "The Singing Bee" was the #6 show of the week in adults 18-49 (tie) and total viewers. Among adults 25-54, "Talent" ranked #2 and "Singing Bee" #4 (tied).

"Dateline NBC" also continued to report strong summer results, with both the Monday and Wednesday editions of the primetime newsmagazine winning their respective time periods in adults 18-49 and other key measures.

Primetime averages for the week of August 6-12 in adults 18-49 were Fox (2.2/7), CBS (2.0/7), NBC (1.8/6), ABC (1.5/5), Univision (1.3/4), CW (0.6/2) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (7.1 million), NBC (5.6 million), Fox (5.5 million), ABC (4.4 million), Univision (3.0 million), CW (1.7 million) and Telemundo (0.8 million).

In regular program averages through 47 weeks of the 2006-07 broadcast year, NBC is running within a tenth of a point of last year's average in adult 18-49 rating (2.9 vs. 3.0). While Fox is flat versus last year in regular program averages (at a 3.8), ABC is down 6 percent (from a 3.3 at this point last year to a 3.1) and CBS is down 9 percent (from a 3.4 to a 3.1).

NBC highlights for the week of August 6-12:

* On Monday, a special one-hour episode of "The Singing Bee" won the 8 p.m. hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Singing Bee" was up 47 percent in 18-49 versus NBC's summer average for the time period.

* Also on Monday, the finale of "Age of Love" matched a series high in 18-49 rating and set a new series high in overall total viewers, while "Dateline NBC" ranked #1 in its slot in adults 18-49, 25-54, total viewers and other key measures

* On Tuesday, "America's Got Talent" was the #1 show of the night on any network in adults 18-49 and total viewers, winning every half-hour in these and other key measures.

* "Talent" delivered its highest 18-49 rating in three weeks, up 7 percent versus the prior three performance episodes. From its first to its third half-hour, "Talent" grew by 28 percent in 18-49 rating and by 31 percent in total viewers.

* Also on Tuesday, "The Singing Bee" continued to demonstrate its broad appeal, ranking #1 or tied for #1 in its time period among adults, men and women 18-49, adults, men and women 18-34 and adults, men and women 25-54, as well as among teens and total viewers.

* NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures, marking the 10th Tuesday in a row that NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1.

* On Wednesday, "Last Comic Standing" ranked #2 in its time period in adults 18-49 and #1 in all key adult male demographics, and "Dateline NBC" was #1 for its slot in adults 18-49 and other key measures.

* On Thursday, an encore "My Name is Earl" scored its highest 18-49 rating since June 7 and biggest overall viewership since June 28, and a "Scrubs" rebroadcast sewed up its best results by both measures since June 14.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of August 6-12:

On Monday, Aug. 6 from 8-9 p.m. ET, a special one-hour episode of "The Singing Bee" (2.5 rating, 8 share in adults 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall) was #1 in the time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and total viewers. "Singing Bee" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in seven weeks (since June 18), up 47 percent versus NBC's regular program average in the slot this summer (2.5 vs. 1.7).

From its first half-hour to its second, "Bee" grew by 22 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 2.8/9 from a 2.3/8) and increased its total viewership by 1.2 million persons, or 16 percent (to 8.5 million from 7.3 million).

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, the finale of "Age of Love" (2.5/7 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall) matched its series high in adults 18-49 (set with the show's June 18 premiere) and delivered a new series high in total viewers. The "Age of Love" finale was up 19 percent in 18-49 rating versus its series average (2.5 vs. 2.1). It ranked #2 in the time period in adults 18-49 and other key measures.

At 10 p.m. ET Monday, "Dateline NBC" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures. Versus the prior week, "Dateline" was up 14 percent in 18-49 rating (2.4 vs. 2.1), 16 percent in adults 25-54 (2.9 vs. 2.5) and 28 percent, or more than 1.7 million persons, in total viewers (7.9 million vs. 6.2 million).

NBC ranked #2 in adults 18-49 on Monday, up 47 percent versus the same night last year (2.5 vs. 1.7). NBC was #1 on Monday in total viewers.

On Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 8-9:30 p.m. ET, "America's Got Talent" (3.2/10 in 18-49, 10.8 million viewers overall) was the #1 show of the night on any network in adults 18-49 and total viewers. "Talent" ranked #1 in its time period, winning every half-hour in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. "Talent" scored its highest 18-49 rating in three week, up 7 percent in 18-49 versus the prior three performance episodes (3.2 vs. 3.0)

From its first half-hour to its third, "Talent" increased by 28 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.7/11 from a 2.9/10) and by 31 percent, or nearly three million persons, in overall total viewers (to 12.3 million from 9.3 million).

Tuesday from 9:30-10 p.m. ET, "The Singing Bee" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 9.8 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49 (tied), adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and total viewers. Reflecting its broad appeal, "Singing Bee" ranked #1 or tied for #1, in adults/men/women 18-34, adults/men/women 18-49, adults/men/women 25-54 and teens, opposite such competition as CBS' "Big Brother," ABC's "Primetime: Crime" and Fox's "House" encore.

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in total viewers.

NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49 and all other key demographic measures, as well as in total viewers. NBC has finished #1 or tied for #1 for the last 10 Tuesdays in a row.

On Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 9 p.m. ET, "Last Comic Standing" (2.6/8 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 in all key adult male demographics (men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54). "Last Comic" built by 37 percent in 18-49 rating on its lead-in from the previous hour � a 1.9/7 in 18-49 and 5.9 million viewers overall for an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" from 8-9 p.m.

Wednesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, as well as among adults, men and women 18-34.

At 8 p.m. ET Thursday, Aug. 9, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall) delivered its highest 18-49 rating since June 7 and its highest overall viewership since June 28. "Earl" was up 13 percent in 18-49 and 11 percent in total viewers versus the prior week's encore telecast. At 8:30 p.m. ET, a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" delivered a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall.

At 9 p.m. ET Thursday, a rebroadcast of "The Office" (1.8/6 in 18-49, 4.0 million viewers overall) built on its 18-49 lead-in by 29 percent. "The Office" ranked #2 in the time period among men 18-34 and men 18-49. From 9:31-10:01 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Scrubs" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 3.8 million viewers overall) sewed up the show's highest 18-49 rating and largest overall viewership since June 14. "Scrubs" retained 100 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "The Office." From 10:01-11 p.m., an encore "ER" averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers overall.

On Friday, Aug. 10 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million viewers overall) tied for the #1 non-sports rating in the time period in adults 18-49. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Las Vegas" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers overall.

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall) was the time period's #1 non-sports telecast in 18-49 and was #1 overall in total viewers, adults 25-54 and other key ratings categories. "CI" built by 63 percent on its 18-49 lead-in.

On Saturday, Aug. 11 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of Tuesday's episode of "The Singing Bee" averaged a 0.8/4 in 18-49 and 2.6 million viewers overall. From 8:30-10 p.m., a rebroadcast of Tuesday's 90-minute "America's Got Talent" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. From 10-11 p.m., an encore telecast of "Medium" delivered a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall.

On Sunday, Aug. 12 from 7-8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.3/5 in 18-49 and 5.0 million viewers overall.

Sunday from 8:09-11:08 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the Seattle Seahawks-San Diego Chargers NFL pre-season game averaged a 1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers overall and a 4.1/7 in households. The pre-kickoff telecast from 8-8:09 averaged a 1.4/5 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall and a 3.2/6 in households.
