TWO-HOUR SEASON DEBUT OF 'THE BIGGEST LOSER' WINS EVERY HALF-HOUR IN ADULTS 18-49 AND IS TUESDAY NIGHT'S #1 SHOW IN THAT KEY DEMO

'LAST COMIC STANDING' IS THE #1 SHOW WEDNESDAY IN ADULTS 18-49

BURBANK, Calif. � September 18, 2007 � NBC has finished #1 in adults 18-49 for the second week in a row, and for the third time in the last four weeks, averaging a 2.3 rating, 7 share in 18-49 and 6.2 million viewers overall for the week of September 10-16, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

For a second week in a row, "NBC Sunday Night Football" was the #1 telecast of the week in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, though this week's game faced competition from the primetime Emmy Awards telecast. The season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" also charted in the week's top 10 in primetime's key demo, ranking #7 (tied) among all programs in adults 18-49. "The Biggest Loser" was the #3-ranked primetime entertainment program of the week in adults 18-49 (tied).

Primetime averages for the week of September 10-16 in adults 18-49 were NBC (2.3/7), Fox (2.2/6), CBS (not available), ABC (1.8/5), Univision (1.4/4), CW (0.8/2) and Telemundo (0.6/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (not available), Fox (6.5 million), NBC (6.2 million), ABC (5.3 million), Univision (3.2 million), CW (2.1 million) and Telemundo (1.3 million). Note: CBS' weekly averages are not available due to Nielsen processing delays of Sunday's NFL overrun.

NBC highlights for the week of September 10-16:

* NBC won Sunday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, despite competition from the primetime Emmy Awards telecast.

* "NBC Sunday Night Football," featuring the San Diego Chargers versus the New England Patriots, topped the Emmy Awards telecast by 51 percent in 18-49 rating and by more than 2.3 million total viewers (based on full duration for both telecasts).

* Paced by the two-hour season premiere of "The Biggest Loser," NBC won Tuesday night in adults 18-49, ranking #1 in every half-hour in primetime's key demographic. "Loser" was the #1 show on television Tuesday night in adults 18-49.

* "Biggest Loser" gained 58 percent in 18-49 rating and 41 percent in total viewers from its first to its fourth half-hour. "Loser" matched its year-ago premiere results in 18-49 rating and grew by 9 percent in total viewers versus last season's debut.

* Also on Tuesday, an encore "Law & Order: SVU" won its time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key demographic measures.

* On Wednesday, "Last Comic Standing" was the #1 show of the night in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. Versus the prior week, "Last Comic" was up 17 percent in 18-49 rating.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of September 10-16:

On Monday, Sept. 10 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Thank God You're Here" averaged a 1.2 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Heroes" averaged a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 2.8 million viewers overall. And at 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" delivered a 1.9/5 in 18-49 and 5.4 million viewers overall. "Dateline," which was up 19 percent in 18-49 rating and 25 percent in total viewers versus the prior week, built on its 18-49 lead-in by 73 percent.

On Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 8-10 p.m. ET, the fourth-season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" (3.1/9 in 18-49, 7.8 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in every half-hour in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures, against original competition that included "Big Brother" and "Power of 10" on CBS and "Just for Laughs" on ABC. "Biggest Loser" was the top-rated show on television Tuesday night in adults 18-49.

From its first to its fourth half-hour, "Loser" gained 58 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.8/10 from a 2.4/8) and 41 percent, or more than 2.7 million persons, in overall total viewers (to 9.3 million from 6.6 million). "Biggest Loser" matched its year-ago premiere results in 18-49 rating and was up 9 percent in total viewers versus last year's debut (a 3.1/9 in 18-49 and 7.1 million viewers overall on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 8-10 p.m.)

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall) ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and other key measures.

On Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 9 p.m. ET, "Last Comic Standing" (2.8/8 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) won its time period in 18-49 and other key measures and was the top-rated show of the night in adults 18-49. "Last Comic" was up 17 percent in 18-49 versus the prior week (2.8/8 vs. 2.4/7) and built by 87 percent in 18-49 rating versus its lead-in from the previous hour � a 1.5/5 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall for an encore telecast of "Last Comic Standing" from 8-9 p.m. At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 6.1million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults 18-49 and #1 among men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tied).

On Thursday, Sept. 13 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "My Name is Earl" averaged a 1.8/6 in 18-49 and 5.0 million viewers overall. At 8:30 p.m. a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" delivered a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall. From 9-9:30 p.m. ET NBC News' coverage of President Bush's address was sustaining and is not included in the nightly or weekly averages. At 9:30 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Office" delivered a 1.8/5 in 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall. From 10-11 p.m. a rebroadcast of "ER" averaged a 1.3/4 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall.

On Friday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" averaged a 1.0/4 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., an encore of "Las Vegas" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) tied for #2 in the time period in 18-49 and ranked #2 outright among adults, men and women 18-34.

On Saturday, Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall) delivered NBC's highest 18-49 rating in this time period in four months (since May 12). At 9 p.m., a "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" rebroadcast averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Medium" averaged a 0.8/2 in 18-49 and 3.0 million viewers overall.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, "NBC Sunday Night Football," featuring the San Diego Chargers versus the New England Patriots, averaged a 6.5/17 in adults 18-49, 15.3 million viewers overall and a 9.8/16 household rating and share from 8:25-11: 09 p.m. ET.

Despite competition from the primetime Emmy Awards telecast on Fox, the Chargers-Patriots game ranked #1 in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. In adults 18-49, the game outperformed the Emmys by 51 percent (a 6.5 for football from 8:25-11:09 p.m. ET vs. a 4.3 for the Emmy Awards telecast from 8-11:14 p.m.). In total viewers, the game outdrew the Emmys by 18 percent, or more than 2.3 million viewers (an average 15.3 million for "NBC Sunday Night Football" vs. an average 13.0 million for the Emmy telecast).

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:55 p.m. ET averaged a 1.9/6 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall and a 3.4 rating, 6 share in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:55-8:15 p.m. delivered a 3.2/10 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall and a 5.6/10 in households. From 8:15-8:25 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 4.5/13 in 18-49, 11.1 million viewers overall and a 7.2/12 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.

NBC won the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures. NBC's margins of victory Sunday night were 51 percent in 18-49 (5.6 vs. 3.7 for second-place Fox) and 21 percent in total viewers (13.4 million vs. 11.0 million for Fox). Versus NBC's overall summer Sunday average, the night was up 229 percent in 18-49.
