CBS's RETURN TO ALL FIRST-RUN THURSDAY DOMINATES THE NIGHT IN VIEWERS AND KEY DEMOGRAPHICS
CBS Wins Every Half Hour In Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54
With Its Highest Rated Thursday In All Measures Since December
A New CSI Uncovers Its Largest Audience Since Sara's November Departure
First-Run "Without a Trace" Out-Performs Its Season-to-Date Averages in Key Measures
"Survivor: Micronesia" Wins Its Time Period Against First-Run Programming on the Competition
With a return to an all first-run lineup, CBS dominated Thursday in viewers and key demographics with its highest ratings on the night since last December as the Network won every half hour in all key measures, according to preliminary Nielsen live plus same day ratings for April 3.
CSI returned with a first-run episode and a time period win in households (12.3/19), viewers (20.40m), adults 25-54 (7.6/18) and adults 18-49 (5.8/15). Compared to the program's season-to-date average (live plus same day), CSI retained 97% of both its households (from 12.7/19) and adults 25-54 (from 7.8/17), 94% in adults 18-49 (from 6.2/15) and 99% of viewers (from 20.69m).
This is CSI's best delivery in viewers and adults 25-54 since Nov. 15 (Sara's departure) and in adults 18-49 since Dec. 13, 2007.
A first-run WITHOUT A TRACE won its time period in households (9.8/17), viewers (15.40m), adults 25-54 (5.4/14) and adults 18-49 (4.1/11). Compared to the program's season-to-date average (live plus same day), WITHOUT A TRACE was up +1% in households (from 9.7/16), +6% in adults 25-54 (from 5.1/13), +3% in adults 18-49 (from 4.0/11) and added +580,000 viewers (from 14.82m, +4%).
This is WITHOUT A TRACE's best viewer delivery since Dec. 13, 2007, best adults 25-54 delivery since Nov. 8, 2007 (the cross-over with CSI) and best adults 18-49 performance since Nov. 15, 2007.
At 8:00 PM, SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA was first in households (7.5/12), viewers (12.85m), adults 25-54 (5.0/13) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11) against first-run competition on NBC ("My Name is Earl"), ABC ("Miss/Guided") and FOX ("Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader").
For the night, CBS was first in households (9.9/16), viewers (16.22m), adults 25-54 (6.0/15) and adults 18-49 (4.6/13). This is CBS's best Thursday delivery in these measures since Dec. 13, 2007.
