November 11, 2008 (Burbank, CA) - The CW Network delivered a strong performance last week, driven by its #1 drama combination on Monday, as well as season highs for TOP MODEL and SMALLVILLE. The CW was the only network to score year-to-year gains this week among its target demographic of women 18-34 (+20%, 1.8/5) and women 18-49 (+8%, 1.4/3), for the week ending Nov 9, 2008.
By focusing on young women, The CW continues to deliver impressive gains in its target demographic this fall. The CW is up 20% in women 18-34 (1.8/5) through 10 weeks of its new season which began on 9/1/08 compared to the first 10 weeks of its new season a year ago (9/17/07-11/26/07). The CW's Monday is up 150% in women 18-34 compared to a year ago, and Tuesday has improved 41% with young women versus last fall.
GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL and AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL all ranked among the top 15 shows on broadcast television last week among women 18-34.
Monday, Nov. 3
The potent combination of GOSSIP GIRL and ONE TREE HILL once again lifted The CW to finish as Monday's #1 network with women 18-34 (3.8/9) and females 12-34 (3.5/9) for the 8th time this season. This marks The CW's third best Monday of the season (and third best ever) with young women.
GOSSIP GIRL scored its best ratings in more than a month among women 18-34 (3.9/10) and women 18-49 (2.6/6), best since 9/29/08. GOSSIP GIRL won the 8:00-9:00p.m. hour among women 18-34 and females 12-34 (3.6/10), and ranked second in adults 18-34 (2.4/6).
Wednesday, Nov. 5
On Wednesday, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL matched its best performance of the cycle among women 18-34 (3.8/11) and adults 18-34 (2.5/8). TOP MODEL also won the 8-9pm time period among women 18-34 (3.8/11) and adults 18-34 (2.5/8-tie).
Thursday, Nov. 6
Thursday's SMALLVILLE hit season highs in adults 18-34 (1.9/6), adults 18-49 (1.9/5) and total viewers (4.5mil). IN FACT, it was the highest rated and most watched episode of the series in nearly a year (since 11/15/07).
