NBC Sports' coverage of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup Final Game 7 on Friday night averaged 8.0 million viewers, marking the highest viewership for an NHL telecast since May 10, 1973 (Montreal-Chicago, Game 6). In adults 18-49, the telecast averaged a 3.4 rating, 12 share, ranking #4 among all telecasts this week in primetime's key demo, behind only ABC's three NBA Finals telecasts. The Stanley Cup Final Game 7 was also the #4-ranked program of the week in all key adult-male demographics men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54 again trailing only the three NBA games (rankings exclude pre and post-game sports telecasts).
