Discovery's Friday Night Survival Programming Resonates with Viewers

Network Takes #1 Cable Slot in Key P25-54 Demo for the Night

DISCOVERY'S FRIDAY NIGHT SURVIVAL PROGRAMMING RESONATES WITH VIEWERS

NETWORK TAKES #1 CABLE SLOT IN KEY P25-54 DEMO FOR THE NIGHT

Premieres of MAN, WOMAN, WILD and BEYOND SURVIVAL WITH LES STROUD propelled Discovery Channel to the #1 ad-supported cable slot Friday night in P25-54 delivery during Prime (765K) and #2 among M25-54/M18-49 (520K/472K). Each show was watched by more than 1.4 million people (P2+).

The 10PM premiere BEYOND SURVIVAL WITH LES STROUD was the #1 program in ad-supported cable on Friday night for P25-54/M25-54 delivery (902K/593K) and was the #2 ad-supported cable program among M18-49 (567K), behind College Football on ESPN. It out-delivered several broadcast programs in key male demos on ABC (Wife Swap, 20/20), CBS (CSI: NY, Medium, Flashpoint), FOX (The Good Guys), and NBC (Dateline, Who Do You Think You Are?), earning a 1.01 HH / 0.83 P25-54 AA%.

Discovery's 9PM premiere of MAN, WOMAN, WILD finished as the #2 ad-supported cable program in prime among M25-54 (572K) after BEYOND SURVIVAL WITH LES STROUD, and #3 among P25-54/M18-49 (831K/499K).

Both shows are back this Friday with all-new episodes. At 9PM, Myke and Ruth Hawke venture to Alaska in MAN, WOMAN, WILD. When their snowmobile breaks down in the remote wilderness, they find out why the thaw of spring is sometimes more lethal than the dead of winter.

And in BEYOND SURVIVAL WITH LES STROUD at 10PM, "Survivorman" Les Stroud treks deep into the Kalahari desert to learn from the original masters of survival, the San Bushmen - a unique tribe believed to be the closest living descendants of the first humans.
