'DATELINE NBC' IS FRIDAY'S #1 SHOW ON THE BIG 4 IN 18-49, NBC TIES FOR THE NIGHTLONG WIN
'DATELINE' EQUALS ITS FRIDAY HIGH SINCE EARLY APRIL IN 18-49 AND GROWS IN TOTAL VIEWERS FOR A THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK
FRIDAY'S 'TALENT' ENCORE HITS A FOUR-WEEK HIGH IN TOTAL VIEWERS
Friday Primetime Results:
· "Dateline NBC" (1.1/4 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, as well as adults 25-54 (1.5). "Dateline NBC" also won its 10-11 p.m. time period among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key demos.
· "Dateline NBC" matched its top Friday rating in 18-49 since April 3 (1.2) and hit an eight-week high in total viewers (best since June 12, 5.173 million). "Dateline" grew for a third straight week in total viewers (from 4.692 million on July 17 to 4.740 million on July 24 to 5.095 million on July 31 to 5.150 million on Aug. 7).
· "Dateline NBC" will add substantial viewership via time shifting -- the prior Friday's "Dateline" grew by +30% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+3 (1.05 to 1.37) and by 1.1 million viewers overall (5.1 million to 6.2 million).
· Upscale: The prior Friday's "Dateline NBC" was the top upscale Big 4 program of the night among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (110 index) and with four or more years of college (115 index).
· An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (0.8/4 in 18-49, 3.9 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) maintained its 18-49 rating for a fifth straight week to match the show's highest result for a Friday encore since June 26 (0.9) and hit a four-week high in total viewers (best since July 10, 3.985 million).
· The "America's Got Talent" rebroadcast ranked #2 in the time period among the Big 4 in adults 18-49 and tied for #1 in men 18-34 and men 18-49.
For the night, NBC tied for #1 among the Big 4 in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and other key measures.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday Night:
· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.8/7; "CBS Summer Showcase," 1.7/4 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.7/4 with an encore.
· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.9/5; "CBS Summer Showcase," 0.3/1 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/2 with an encore.
· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.
· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.2/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show with James Corden" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).
· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
