Thursday's Broadcast Ratings: CBS, ABC Share in Top Demo Honors

Here are the highlights of the 17 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks last night (3/1/18):

CBS (8.708 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T1) pulled into the top spot on Thurdsay with originals from "The Big Bang Theory" (13.635 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.5, #1), "Young Sheldon" (12.434 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 2.1, #2), "Mom" (9.008 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4), "Life in Pieces" (6.538 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6) and "SWAT" (5.317 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 0.9, #11).

ABC (5.620 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.5, #T1) however shared in the demo honors with its trio of "Grey's Anatomy" (7.529 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 2.0, #3), "Scandal" (5.129 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5) and "How to Get Away with Murder" (4.202 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6).

Next up was NBC (4.066 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with a new "Superstore" (3.534 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 1.0, #10), the formal premiere of "AP Bio" (2.717 million viewers, #13; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) and originals from "Will & Grace" (4.101 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6), another "AP Bio" (2.812 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.7, #14) and "Chicago Fire" (5.615 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.1, #T6).

Meanwhile, FOX (2.538 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.7, #4) offered up the return of "Gotham" (2.595 million viewers, #14; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T12) and "Showtime at the Apollo" (2.481 million viewers, #15; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15).

And finally, fresh installments of "Supernatural" (1.625 million viewers, #16; adults 18-49: 0.6, #T15) and "Arrow" (1.175 million viewers, #17; adults 18-49: 0.4, #17) on The CW (1.400 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 0.5, #5) rounded out the night.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.7/4; "Late Show," 0.4/3; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.5/3 with an encore.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.1/4 in metered-market households and a 0.3/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, ratings were: "Late Night with Seth Meyers," 1.2/4 in metered-market households; CBS's "Late Late Show," 1.2/4. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, averages were: "Late Night," 0.4/3 in 18-49; "Late Late Show," 0.2/2.

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.7/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


Here are the highlights of the 14 ad-sustained programs that aired in primetime on the broadcast networks one year ago (3/2/17):

NBC (8.049 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 1.6, #1) got a big boost on Thursday with a special "The Voice" (10.644 million viewers, #1; adults 18-49: 2.3, #1) followed by a new "Chicago Med" (8.770 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.7, #2) and week two of "The Blacklist: Redemption" (4.733 million viewers, #7; adults 18-49: 1.0, #8).

CBS (6.128 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 1.2, #2) then opted for repeats of "The Big Bang Theory" (8.625 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.6, #3), "Mom" (6.739 million viewers, #5; adults 18-49: 1.3, #5), another "The Big Bang Theory" (7.254 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 1.5, #4) and "Life in Pieces" (5.379 million viewers, #6; adults 18-49: 1.2, #6) plus a new "Training Day" (4.385 million viewers, #8; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9).

Next up was FOX (2.925 million viewers, #3; adults 18-49: 1.0, #3) with a new "MasterChef Junior" (3.605 million viewers, #9; adults 18-49: 1.1, #7) and the season finale of "My Kitchen Rules" (2.245 million viewers, #11; adults 18-49: 0.8, #T9).

Meanwhile, ABC (2.317 million viewers, #4; adults 18-49: 0.5, #T4) offered up its combination of "When We Rise: The People Behind the Story" (2.713 million viewers, #10; adults 18-49: 0.5, #12) and "When We Rise, Part 3" (2.119 million viewers, #12; adults 18-49: 0.4, #T13).
