#1 Most Social Primetime Program Across Broadcast and Cable for Three Consecutive Nights

Los Angeles, CA - January 8, 2019 - Lifetime's ground-breaking documentary series Surviving R. Kelly continued its ratings domination with its telecasts across Lifetime and LMN, reaching 18.8 million Total Viewers. Live +3 Data will be available on Thursday.

The six-part averaged 2.1m Total Viewers, 1.2m A25-54 and A18-49, 858,000 W25-54, and 798,000 W18-49 in premieres on Lifetime in Live + Same Day. For the week of 12/31 - 1/6, Lifetime had the #1 entertainment telecast across all of cable among A25-54, W25-54, A18-49, and W18-49 with the finale of Surviving R. Kelly. Additionally, the documentary accounted for six of the top eight cable entertainment telecasts of the week with these demos.

Surviving R. Kelly drove Lifetime to rank as cable's #1 entertainment network for the week with A25-54, W25-54, A18-49, and W18-49. Surviving R. Kelly was Lifetime's strongest non-fiction series in seven years among Adults 25-54 (1.2 million) and Women 25-54 (858,000), making it the #1 non-fiction series on cable since October 1, 2018 in those demos and the #2 overall cable series, behind AMC's The Walking Dead.

Peaking in Night 3 across most key demos, Saturday night's performance was Lifetime's best non-fiction premiere in more than five years with Adults 25-54 (1.3 million) and Women 25-54 (900,000).

Surviving R. Kelly was also the #1 most social primetime program across broadcast and cable for three consecutive nights (excluding sports), delivering 1.4 million total interactions across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, cementing itself as Lifetime's most talked-about series on social media in the network's history.

An encore marathon of all six-hours of Surviving R. Kelly will air on Friday, January 11 starting at 6pm on Lifetime.

In Surviving R. Kelly, women are emerging from the shadows and uniting their voices to share their stories. Celebrated as one of the greatest R&B singers of all time, R. Kelly's genre defining career and playboy lifestyle has been riddled with rumors of abuse, predatory behavior, and pedophilia. Despite damning evidence and multiple witnesses, to date, none of these accusations have seemingly affected him. For the first time ever, survivors and people from R. Kelly's inner circle, are coming forward with new allegations about his sexual, mental, and physical abuse. They are now finally ready to share their full story and shed light on the secret life the public has never seen.

With over 50 interviews including civil rights activist Tarana Burke, musicians John Legend and Sparkle, talk-show host and former DJ Wendy Williams, ex-wife Andrea Kelly, ex-girlfriend Kitti Jones, brothers Carey and Bruce Kelly, and many others, the true story of R. Kelly's controversial past will be revealed beginning in 1970 through present day, shedding light on the R&B star whose history of alleged abuse of underage African American girls has, until recently, been largely ignored by mainstream media.

Surviving R. Kelly is executive produced by cultural critic, filmmaker and passionate activist dream hampton, Tamra Simmons, Joel Karsberg and Jesse Daniels for Kreativ Inc. which has a production deal with Bunim/Murray Productions (BMP), and Brie Miranda Bryant from Lifetime. This program falls under Lifetime's commitment to provide a platform to give women a voice where they have previously been unheard to bring awareness to the abuses and harassment of women.
