'NIGHTLINE' RANKS NO. 1 IN TOTAL VIEWERS FOR WEEK OF NOV. 1

'Nightline' Hits Season Highs Across the Board, Drawing Largest Overall Audience in Over Three Months

ABC News' "Nightline" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (813,000) for the week of Nov. 1, 2021, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research leading CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" and NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

In addition, "Nightline" (225,000 and 164,000, respectively) outdelivered CBS' "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49.

"Nightline" posted increases from the previous week in Total Viewers (+3% - 813,000 vs. 788,000), Adults 25-54 (+8% - 225,000 vs. 209,000) and Adults 18-49 (+11% - 164,000 vs. 160,000), hitting season highs across the board. In fact, "Nightline" drew its largest overall audience in over three months and strongest key Adult performances in 2 months - since weeks of 7/12/21 and 8/23/21, respectively.

Last week, in a special edition of "Nightline," "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir was on the ground in southern Madagascar to report on a climate-driven crisis that has left more than one million people in desperate need of food due to years of drought. "Nightline" featured stories on India's development of green initiatives and moving away from its dependence on coal, the celebration of Día De Los Muertos, the results of the 2021 election, the shooting on the movie set of "Rust" and an interview with Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga of the new movie "Passing."

NOTE: NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers" was retitled to "Seth Meyers-SM" on Friday (11/5/21) due to being a repeat. The retitled telecast is not included in the weekly and season averages. NBC's averages are based on four days (Monday-Thursday).
