SEASON 5 DEBUT OF FX'S ACCLAIMED HIT DRAMA "SNOWFALL" HITS NEW SERIES HIGH

Total Viewer Average for the First Two Episodes Climbs +13% Over Season 4 and +43% Over Season 3 Averages

Episode 3 Airs Tonight at 10:00 PM E/P on FX and Streams Exclusively on Hulu

LOS ANGELES, March 2, 2022 - FX's critically acclaimed hit drama Snowfall is off to its best start ever, pacing as the most-watched season to date, with the two-episode (2/23) season five debut averaging 4.3 million Total Viewers across linear, VOD and streaming.

The Total Viewer average across all platforms represents a +13% increase over the prior season on an equivalized basis (4.3 million vs. 3.8 million) and a staggering +43% increase over the series' third season (4.3 million vs. 3.0 million). The total audience delivery represents roughly half of the average audience of season four to date.

In tonight's third episode of season five, "Lions" (10:00 pm ET/PT, FX and next day on Hulu), Teddy's (Carter Hudson) return causes tension, forcing Jerome (Amin Joseph) and Louie (Angela Lewis) to negotiate with Skully (De'Aundre Bonds). Written by Jeanine Daniels; directed by Damian Marcano. Critics have taken note:

· THE NEW YORK TIMES says Snowfall is "a dark, enjoyable, sharply etched ride"

· TV GUIDE calls Snowfall "one of the best crime dramas on TV right now"

· THE A.V. CLUB calls it "the show's best season yet"

· CONSEQUENCE says its "one of the hottest must-watch shows on television... . Snowfall has managed to take the 'drug drama' sub-genre to new heights through layered, intense storytelling, award-worthy acting, and awe-inducing cinematography... . Snowfall will end up becoming one of those shows we point and say 'this was a moment' for its ingenuity, elite performances from actors both new and seasoned and, hopefully, for the dark but necessary history lesson it served to uncover for our nation's citizens... . Snowfall is your new favorite show... "

SNOWFALL SEASON 5

It's the summer of 1986, and Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) and his entire family are rich beyond their wildest dreams, on the verge of having everything they've ever wanted... right as the ground begins to fall out from under their feet.

The sudden and tragic death of basketball star Len Bias makes the rock cocaine epidemic front-page news, the target of both Democrat and Republican lawmakers. Law enforcement is on a warpath and the militarization of the L.A.P.D. continues as police and politicians decide the only way to deal with this growing scourge is through force - and the creation of the new C.R.A.S.H. (Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) units. The streets of South Central Los Angeles have never been so dangerous as the Saint family navigates the police, the warring gangs and the CIA.

Amidst all of this, the biggest threat the family faces are each other as they try not to let greed, resentment and ego tear them all apart.

Created by John Singleton & Eric Amadio and Dave Andron, Snowfall is executive produced by Singleton, Andron, Thomas Schlamme, Amadio, Michael London, Trevor Engelson, Leonard Chang, Walter Mosley and Julie DeJoie. Damson Idris also serves as Producer. Andron serves as showrunner. Snowfall is produced by FX Productions.
