DESCRIPTION:
(from Discovery's press release, November 2011) Iconic, award-winning artist Snoop Dogg has recorded the original title track for Discovery's WEED WARS, the network's new series looking at the world of medicinal cannabis. WEED WARS premieres Thursday, December 1 at 10PM E/P and will be simulcast on Discovery Channel and Discovery Fit & Health Channel. From Entourage to One Life to Live to WWE RAW, Snoop is no stranger to television both in front of and behind the camera. Coming off his release of Doggumentary, the eponymously titled WEED WARS track is another hotspot in an already big year for Snoop. The coming months will see the release of a collaborative film project featuring Snoop and Wiz Khalifa entitled Mac and Devin Go To High School. Due in December, the duo will precede the movie with a soundtrack by the same name. WEED WARS is a familiar story: a start-up business with demanding clients and the ever-looming possibility that it could all go belly up... But this is not exactly a typical business. When California voters passed the Compassionate Use Act in 1996, medicinal cannabis was legalized within the state igniting a national firestorm and providing an opening to a whole new kind of entrepreneur.
