NICKELODEON REIMAGINES POPULAR '90S HIT "BLUE (DA BA DEE)" BY EIFFEL 65 FOR ITS GROUNDBREAKING ANIMATED SERIES "BLUE'S CLUES"
Season Three of Blue's Clues & You! Premieres Friday, Oct. 1, at 11am (ET/PT), with the Return of Classic Fan-Favorite Character Periwinkle
Nickelodeon's Blue's Clues is tapping into more '90s nostalgia by reimagining the decade's international hit "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by electronic/Eurodance group Eiffel 65 in a brand-new music video, and with the return of classic fan-favorite kitten Periwinkle in the season three premiere of Blue's Clues & You! premiering on Friday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. (ET/PT).
Retitled "I'm Blue," the song was re-recorded by Eiffel 65 and features Blue's Clues & You! star Josh Dela Cruz and former Blue's Clues hosts, Donovan Patton and Steve Burns singing and dancing along with Blue.
In the season three premiere of Blue's Clues & You!, "Our New Neighbor," Periwinkle moves in next door and becomes Josh and Blue's new neighbor. Josh and Blue play Blue's Clues to figure out how they can help Periwinkle feel welcome and learn more about their new kitten neighbor along the way, helping him unpack and even skidooing to his old neighborhood to retrieve his missing stuffie. The new season (20 episodes) will follow Josh (Josh Dela Cruz) and Blue as they meet new friends; spend time with Josh's Lola--his grandmother (Carolyn Fe)--and cousins, Steve (Steve Burns) and Joe (Donovan Patton); and go on all-new fun-filled adventures to the present store, outer space and more.
About Blue's Clues
With critical praise from educators, parents, and preschoolers, Blue's Clues has generated an enormous global fanbase over the years in over 160 countries and more than 20 languages. Blue's Clues drew acclaim and high ratings for its unique interactivity that helped change the way kids watch television and has remained one of the most popular preschool shows of all time. The landmark series also raised the bar in preschool television by exploring advanced subject matter such as sign language, geography, physics, emotions, and anatomy. The show is the recipient of numerous awards including Peabody Awards, Parents Choice Awards, Television Critics Association Awards and Prix Jeunesse.
The legacy and lasting impact of the series continues with the remake of Blue's Clues & You! in 2019, which has a new generation of preschoolers searching for clues with beloved puppy Blue and new live-action host Josh (Josh Dela Cruz). The series features new CG-animation for Blue and Magenta, brand-new elements and refreshed iconic items from the original series including an updated Handy Dandy Notebook equipped with smartphone technology and the return of fan-favorite characters. Blue's Clues & You!, produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, Calif., was recently picked up for a fourth season and nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards. Currently in its second season, the show airs weekdays at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
