STILLMAN ASKS RUSH AND VALENS TO RE-OPEN THE 1987 CASE
OF A HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL STAR, ON A REBROADCAST
OF "COLD CASE," SUNDAY, AUG. 22
"The Lost Soul of Herman Lester" -- Stillman asks Rush and Valens to re-open the 1987 case of Philadelphia high school basketball star Herman Lester, found stabbed to death hours after leading his team to the State Championship, on COLD CASE, Sunday, Aug. 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Tim Matheson directed the episode from a script by Sean Whitesell. (Originally broadcast 3/14/04)
Stillman's request is motivated by a death threat recently received by Herman's son, Earl, a current basketball phenom vying for the same school as his father. Among the suspects who soon re-emerge are a jealous teammate of Herman's who was kicked off the team (Ron Berkenpass), a local bookmaker and Herman and Earl's coach, who was hoping to ride both players coattails to a job in the collegiate ranks.
