RANDOM ACTS OF COINCIDENCE -- WALLACE SHAWN GUEST STARS -- Jordan (Jill Hennessy) begins to act strangely after a night of dancing with Woody (Jerry O'Connell). Suppressing information that she had an encounter with an intruder in her apartment that night, her behavior causes concern among her co-workers, which leads her to believe that Macy (Miguel Ferrer) and Lily (Kathryn Hahn) asked the resident shrink, Dr. Howard Stiles (guest star Wallace Shawn, "My Dinner with Andre"), to talk to her. Convinced the intrusion is connected to her mother's murder, Jordan finally has a breakdown and Dr. Stiles helps her reach a breakthrough with her troubled past. Meanwhile, a fire in a storage unit turns up a dead body that re-opens a case that was closed ten years ago. During the new investigation, Macy pulls Jordan off the case after noticing her overly emotional reactions and the parallels between the case and her own life. He then battles with D.A. Renee Walcott (guest star Susan Gibney) to free a man he tried unsuccessfully to prove innocent ten years prior. Ravi Kapoor and Steve Valentine also star.
