ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
DOUBLE JEOPARDY, the 1999 box-office hit starring Tommy Lee Jones ("The Fugitive") as a parole officer who aids a convicted murderer (played by Ashley Judd) as she sets out to find her son and the truth behind her husband's "murder," will be rebroadcast as the "CBS Sunday Movie," Sunday, Dec. 26 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. (Originally broadcast 5/12/02)
While on a weekend boating retreat with her husband, Libby Parsons (Judd) awakens dazed, covered in blood and with her husband missing. She emerges as the prime suspect in her husband's murder, and is soon convicted and sent to prison. Pleading her innocence, Libby soon realizes she may have been framed.
While in jail, a fellow inmate tells her about double jeopardy -- if you've been tried once you cannot be tried again for the same crime. Six years later, she is paroled and begins her plan to track down her son and her best friend, Angela, who have disappeared, and find out what really happened.
Sent to a half-way house under the jurisdiction of Travis Lehman (Jones), a by-the-books parole officer, Libby quickly violates parole and races off on her quest with Travis in hot pursuit. Along the way, however, Travis begins to suspect that Libby might be telling the truth about being framed for murder.
Bruce Greenwood ("Thirteen Days") portrays Libby's husband, Nick, and Annabelle Gish ("The X Files") is her best friend, Angela.
Bruce Beresford directed the film, which was written by David Weisberg and Douglas S. Cook. Leonard Goldberg and Richard Luke Rothschild are the producers of the 1999 Paramount theatrical release.
