The Game: USC has claimed its third consecutive Pac-10 crown and will take its No. 1 ranking into the BCS national Championship Game against Oklahoma in the FedEx Orange Bowl. Oklahoma and USC have two of the top gridiron heritages in the country. The Trojans 12-0 record is USC's best start since 1972. USC has won ten national titles, while Oklahoma has seven. The teams have met just eight times, and it's been a dozen years since the last faceoff. USC holds a 5-2-1 lead in its series with Oklahoma, with all contests occurring in the regular season. Oklahoma is one of only two teams to ever beat a No. 1 Trojan team. USC is looking for its eighth perfect (unbeaten, untied season). This is the second time PETE CARROLL has coached against Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl. Heisman Trophy QB MATT LEINART, who also shared Co-Offensive Player of the Year honors with the electrifying TB REGGIE BUSH, will lead the offense. On defense, the Trojans will rely on DE SHAUN CODY, who earned PAC-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors. Oklahoma, ranked No. 2 in the BCS standings, will look to QB JASON WHITE on offense.
