NBC MOVIE OF THE WEEK --(8:00PM-10:00PM) --(TV-PG)
"Godzilla"
From the producer-writers of the blockbuster "Independence Day" comes the classic science-fiction monster Godzilla, who rises from the ocean's depths following nuclear tests to destroy everything in its path -- including New York City. Golden Globe and Emmy-Award nominated Matthew Broderick ("Election," "You Can Count On Me") stars as Dr. Niko Tatopoulos, the head of a select group of scientists who must stop the giant lizard from laying its demon eggs. Also starring are Emmy winner Hank Azaria ("Tuesdays With Morrie"), Jean Reno ("Ronin") and Maria Pitillo ("Providence," "Bye Bye love"). Roland Emmerich ("The Patriot") directs the screenplay written by Dean Devlin ("Independence Day") and himself.
