NBC'S ANN CURRY MARKS HER 10TH EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH THE McCAUGHEY SEPTUPLETS WITH A SLUMBER PARTY --SUNDAY, JAN. 15 ON "DATELINE NBC"
NEW YORK -- January 12, 2006 -- NBC's Ann Curry marks her 10th exclusive interview with the McCaughey family with a slumber party at the Science Center of Iowa. Older and wiser at eight years old, they are now aware that they are part of a unique family. Ann Curry's report, airing this Sunday, Jan. 15 (7 PM, ET), features her spending an entire night exploring the Science Center with the children and seeing how they have matured.
From sunset to sunrise, the second graders are funny, insightful, and forthcoming about how it feels to be the world's only set of living septuplets. Parents, Bobbi and Kenny, also talk candidly with Curry about the ongoing challenges and joys of raising seven children the same age, plus their older daughter. After trying fourth-grade at public school last year, 10-year-old Mikayla decided she preferred being home schooled by her mom, while her brothers and sisters attend Carlisle Elementary School.
Viewers will also have a chance to see how Nathan, one of the two septuplets with cerebral palsy, has progressed since he bravely underwent complicated spinal surgery 14 months ago.
David Corvo is the executive producer of "Dateline NBC."
