A MAN PLEADS WITH JEFFRIES AND LILLY TO TAKE ANOTHER LOOK
AT HIS CASE JUST DAYS BEFORE HIS SCHEDULED EXECUTION,
ON A REBROADCAST OF "COLD CASE," SUNDAY, AUG. 27
"Death Penalty: Final Appeal" -- A man Jeffries arrested in 1994 begs him to reexamine his case just days before his scheduled execution, on a rebroadcast of COLD CASE, Sunday, Aug. 27 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Alex Zakrzewski directed the episode that was written by Sean Whitesell. (Originally broadcast 4/16/06)
Jeffries is convinced of the man's guilt, however, one of the original investigating detectives has been accused of hiding evidence, which gives Jeffries reason to take a second look. Lilly and Jeffries pursue a number of leads that all lead to dead ends, especially since no one will talk, and they begin to lose faith that they will be able to solve the case before the execution takes place.
