LAZY IN AMERICA: THE DEADLY SIN OF SLOTH, ON ABC NEWS� �20/20,� FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6

It is not sexy, like lust� or passionate, like wrath� or even filling, like gluttony. Rather, it�s the deadly sin you commit when you are not that committed to sinning, or to anything else for that matter -- sloth. �20/20� continues its series on the seven deadly sins with �Sloth: Goofing off in America,� an hour report that looks at slothful behavior at home and at work. The show also reports on the history of slackers, as well as the animal, the sloth. �20/20� airs on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

� Slacking on the job � Would you take unauthorized breaks, spend time chatting with colleagues or even lie about your work altogether if you knew people weren�t watching? �20/20� hired 12 people for a day to conduct pretend polls for ABC News on the streets of New York City to secretly observe their work behavior. Would this non-scientific experiment find more diligent workers or egregious slackers? JuJu Chang reports.

� Lazy teens � Is it possible to motivate the laziest of teens, or is it just a lost cause? �20/20� viewers volunteered their lazy teens to be observed -- and then hopefully motivated by an expert to get off the couch, get out from behind the computer screen, start picking up after themselves and just get moving. Will it work? John Stossel reports.

� The history of slackers � From unforgettable movie roles like Ferris Bueller to a 29-year-old college student who has spent the last 13 years in school, Chris Connelly reports on slothful behavior.

� Sloth, the animal � Sloths are awake for only a few hours a day; the rest of the time they sleep and digest food. Lynn Sherr introduces viewers to the beast that fully embraces the term �sloth.� Spend five minutes -- it only feels like five hours -- with a sloth, and you'll understand how it got its name. But as Sherr reports, there's nothing sinful about its sluggish style.
