DOCTORS ARE BAFFLED BY A LITTLE GIRL'S HEART, ON THE SEASON FINALE OF "HOPKINS," THURSDAY, AUGUST 7 ON ABC

On the season finale of "Hopkins," doctors are perplexed by the heart of a young girl from China, and an ER doctor from earlier episodes asks a colleague to help her find a date. Astounding scenes of medical crisis, with young doctors forced to make life and death decisions, result in a stunningly intimate portrait of the men and women of Johns Hopkins Hospital, on the finale of "Hopkins," THURSDAY, AUGUST 7 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

In the final episode:

� A school teacher adopts a little girl from China who has had a mysterious prior heart surgery that baffles Hopkins doctors when they try and repair a leak.

� ER Doctor Ann Czarnik returns to sew up a handsome fellow doctor who flirts with her and asks her to leave no scars.

� Surgical intern Oscar Serrano tries to help a man whose thumb has been severed, and is rattled after a young boy goes into cardiac arrest.

� Doctor Andy Cameron performs one of the most challenging surgeries, transplanting livers, but an even bigger challenge is measuring up to his dad, the former chief of surgery and a living legend.

"Hopkins" offers a rare look at the impact that this demanding and high pressure profession can have on doctors' personal lives. For four months, ABC News' high definition cameras had unparalleled access to this legendary hospital. Over 100 caregivers and patients gave their consent to be filmed. Culled from nearly 1500 hours of footage, "Hopkins" contains scenes that are remarkably raw and private, examining the interplay between the public and private worlds of the men and women who wear the white coats. There are no narrators in "Hopkins"; the voices belong to the patients and doctors, as interwoven storylines unfold in scenes of cin�ma v�rit�.
