EVA MENDES GOES TO VANCOUVER � In Vancouver, British Columbia, host Sol Guy brings one of Hollywood's finest leading ladies, Eva Mendes, to his hometown to connect with community leader Liz Evans and the Portland Hotel Society. Liz and her 200-person staff at the Portland Hotel Society are on the frontlines of lending dignity and stability to the lives of people living in Vancouver's downtown eastside, a neighborhood overwhelmed with homelessness, addiction and disease. The Portland Hotel Society's unique blend of services includes housing, food, drop-in resource centers, needle exchange, a bank, an art gallery and North America's only safe injection site. Sol and Eva get a firsthand look at some of the projects, come face to face with the pain of addiction, and connect with a community of people often ignored by society (#103).
